Burgundian in style a bit on the sweet side so a bit more chilled may cut the sugar. Excellent balance!

Terrific ruby color with excellent clarity, nose is still a bit closed but cherries present, palate getting better with each passing year but of modest grip. Balance is excellent and all in all an excellent wine and well worth the price.

while the nose is pleasing with a characteristic Burgundy nose of red fruit, the finish is very short almost to the point of being out of balance. Disappointing given the vintage.

Deep purple in color, floral aromatics, spice and leather on the palate but somewhat short on the finish. However, nice paring with filet mignon. First glass was better than the second.

Light in color, pleasant nose of honeysuckle and citrus. However, this wine did not seem to benefit from my last tasting in May of 2008. There is too much acidity and overall seems out of balance.

Deep red in color, black cherry fruit on the palate, the tannins are smooth now and the wine is drinking beautifully. The age has definitely helped this wine mature but not sure if additional years will be better as after a few hours not quite as impressive.

deep red in color with moderate to firm tannins, meat, minerals and excellent structure yet well integrated. Serious good wine. Very nice find on sale. Will surely improve after an hour in the glass.

deep garnet in color, Brunello nose, vibrant dark fruit which was in balance with soft to medium tannins, some structure with wood and leather notes but very pleasing and held up for 4 -5 days of drinking.

deep red in color with excellent clarity, rounded red fruit with hint of spice. Medium weight but could add some structure with more time in bottle.

Dark red in color with expressive bouquet of wet stone and blueberries, soft tannins (this is the 2nd night opened) and the Cabernet Franc and Merlot come together in an integrated fashion without blurring the edges. A bit short on the finish is my only complaint. Will probably get better in the glass over the next few hours. Good minerality and subtlety make this a very nice wine indeed for the price. A nice surprise.

deep red in color, wonderfully pungent nose of red fruit and floral in bouquet. Tart and tannic for the first 30 minutes before opening up to well balanced and silky taninnins with the palate of red fruit, cassis and leather with a hint of pencil. Wonderful wine all around and at peak.

Dark in color, nose of damp leather and mushroom, subtle dark fruit and pencil on the palate with medium finish. I am not sure this will get much better with age so I will probaby drink my remaining bottles this year.

a fine Bourgogne that is light to middle weight with red cherry and strawberry. Tannins are smooth and rounded making for enjoyable drinking now. This wine is well constructed but somewhat short in its finish.

Brownish red in color, with good clarity. The nose is of damp wood and a traditional Burgundy nose. The taste is of black fruit and cedar with some spice as well but the tannins are well rounded now. This wine is quite enjoyable even though I have been quite underwhelmed by many of the Latour wines. Still could benefit from a few more years in the bottle.

This '99 is drinking beautifully now, no need for more cellaring. The fruit is still powerful and is well integrated with earth flavors and tannins are now soft My only criticism on an all around enjoyable wine was that the finish did not linger longer. This is definitely one of my favorite California cabs and shows subtle Paulliac characteristics.

At first opening it was creamy with a full finish almost over the top but became a little unbalanced as it evolved in the glass. Picked up butter and a bit of citrus with wood undertones and flowers in the nose. Drink up now!
