Dark, brilliant color with plenty of black fruit on the nose. Rich palate with notes of mint, dark fruits and dried herbs. Medium finish.
An easy drinker and crowd pleaser that can hold its own against most red meats, lamb or bbq.
Probably won't improve with age, but can easily keep for 5+ years.

Impressive result from a wine that is produced in the hundreds of thousands or even millions of bottles.

Nice colour with beginning brick on the rim.
Nose is fantastic with that buttermilk notion that give away great Bordeaux.
The palate, however, is extremely disappointing. Muted fruit and some tired secondary notes with a modest finish. Not dead, but rather exhausted.
Drink now.

Brilliant ruby with some transpancy. Blackberries on the nose with some garrique and mint.
Palate is structured with dark berries, plenty of acid still, a Terasses in its prime. Some marcipan on the medium finish. Will keep for another 5 years.

Ruby with beginning bricking.
Classic Bordeaux nose of black currant, some leather, not overwhelming.
Palate is lean with apple-peel black currant, cherry stone, mouthwatering with a dry finish with grape-peel.
Will keep but is probably plenty mature.

Deep ruby color with a hint of brick on the rim.
Some alcohol on the nose, but mainly marzipan, aged rum, turpentine and blackberries.
Palate is red and black fruit, surprisingly fresh with some roasted hazelnut on the medium-long finish.
Amazing that it is still so fresh and could cellar for another decade easily, except the T-cork is entirely soaked through.
Drink now-2033.

Bright pale straw colour.
Nose has fresh pineapple and a surprisingly discreet kerosene backdrop. When it gains some temperature citrus appear.
Palate has pineapple, green apples and a vibrant acidity.
Medium finish of apple peel. Astonishingly young and far from done. Will probably improve for another 5+ years and will keep for 20 more.

What a difference, a year makes.
This one is coming around (sub-optimal cellaring conditions apply), opening up nicely with blackberries, black pepper, juniper, garrique and just a touch of strawberry (?) on the nose.

This is echoed on the rounded palate along with hints of leather and a touch of oak. Medium finish.

Drink now and 10 years on. If you have good cellaring, this may need another couple of years.

Bottled 2007. Beautiful amber color, orange peel on the nose, brown sugar, cedar wood, slight hint of acetone in the background.
Palate is orange confit, caramel, roasted hazelnuts and a finish what won't quit.
A formidable Colheita. Drink now or whenever.

Bright transparant, red color true to the Grenache grape. Vibrant nose of red and dark berries, some herbs or garrique. Palate is an echo of the nose with red and dark fruit, dry finish with a medium finish. It's still a young wine and while not made for ageing it will probably develop for another couple of years, but drinks beautifully now. Terrific QPR.

PnP - Color is a deep crimson with bricking on the edge. Nose is immidate with black currant, some dried herbs, a bit of black pepper.
Palate confirms the blend with currant, leather and a medium-long finish.
This was a surprisingly good wine which has aged beautifully and while at its peak, still far from done.

PnP - Dark, brilliant red with immidiate shiraz-notes on the nose - blackberries, cassis and the tell-tale mint/eucalyptus I so often find in aussie reds.
Palate is a dry, dense, fruit-driven wine at this time. Full at first but dries out fast, probably due to the youthfulness of the wine.
Finish is medium with very firm tannins and plenty of acid. again I attest this to the relative youthfullness of the wine.
Will age beautifully.

Ruby red color with a brown edge.
The nose is powerful mint and eucalyptus at first, confusingly Aussie Shiraz notes. Blackberries and dark fruits. The palate is fruited with dark fruits, with rounded (low) acidity and a long, mint finish.
As it opens up in the glass, secondary notes of sweet licqurice on the nose, followed by more eucalyptus. Palate dries up with som green notes. Juicy. Medium long finish.
Never tried these varieties before. Drink now but will probably keep another 5 years.

Beautiful, mature tawny color. Lovely nose of coffee, candied oranges and a slight whiff of alcohol.
The palate is rich with sweet tertiary notes of smoked cedar, chocolate, cappuccino and caramel, and with a good amount of acid to keep it interesting.
Finish is very long, with mocca chocolate and a hint of mint.
An absolutely gorgeous colheita.
Bottled 2017.

Surprisingly good Pinot Gris from Pfalz.
Color is golden straw and the nose is mature Pinot Gris, a little spiced although muted. Palate is a little weak compared to greater "true" Pinot Gris from, say, Alsace (at thrice the price), but still very acceptable and easy drinking. Fresh acidity. Medium long finish.
Drink now.

I bought this as a semi-joke, as it's super cheap, 1-liter bottle with a screwcap. But it held 13% abv, which is surprising for most german wines (indicating a truly dry wine - not feinherb or liebliech), and was true to it's Trocken-lable, so I gave it a shot.

An absolute steal for the price (2,5€/liter) and next time I will buy 12 bottles, to enjoy on the terrace.

Nice ruby color, true to the Pinot Noir style. Nose was red currant and somewhat flowery.
Palate was acidic and came across as somewhat underripe. Short finish.
I've never had "warm climate" PN, so I imagined it having more depth than it's french cousins, but no dice.
PN has never been my grape and I was confirmed that even warmer climate PN's are not to my taste.
NR.

Decanted violently and then back into the bottle and resting for 2 hours. Color is vibrant ruby core and edge.
Nose is black pepper and pine needles.
Palate is minty, fat from beef, juniper berries.
Long, dry finish.
Could age for another decade perhaps.

Decanted violently then back in the bottle for two hours.
Dark ruby color, clear and with no sediment.
Nose is mint or eucalyptus with some unripe blackberries. Reminds me of Australian Shiraz.
Palate is again like Shiraz (Australian) with eucalyptus and black currant and some green notes. Quite acidic with medium finish (greenish).
Will develop I'm sure. Surprisingly good compared to earlier.

I tried this wine before (different vintage) and was disappointed, mostly because it was so closed but has a promise of potential.

But then I saw it at a fraction of the usual price and decided to serve it at a house warming event I had.

Experience from earlier told me to give it some air so I splashed it into a large surface carafe, and then swirl it about and back in the bottle. Repeat for the other bottles.

And what a difference some air makes! Great dark fruits, eucalyptus on the nose and palate, plenty of acid and a medium long finish. I bought another 6 bottles and will try and follow it over time.

Drink now if you air it or give it 5+ years in bottle.

Dark ruby with the tiniest of brown edges.
An amazing nose of paprika, smoke, grilled beef fat and dark berries.
The palate is cassis, black berries, cedar and loads of other dark fruits.
The finish is looong with a slightly green edge that indicates a wine in its prime, fully ripe but with 10+ years of vigor still left. Drink now-2032.

Tasted up against the same producers Cairanne and Visan (CDRV) - same vintage. This was slightly disappointing on the evening, being beat by the cheaper Cairanne.
Color is deep ruby. Still a young wine.
Nose is peculiar with ocean/fish scale developing into pork rinds - maybe some flint sparks? I detected some vanilla notes but I don't know if it's been aged in oak.
Palate is muted garrigue and blackberries.
Finish was short/medium. Hopefully, it's a promise of further potential as it matures in the cellar. I will set my drinking window with that presumption.

Tasted up against the same producers Lirac and Cairanne. This wine was more classic "Rhone" than the other two. The most developed and a bit more lean. It drinks very well now, but will keep for a few years more, no problem.

PnP, too warm weather = too warm wine. The color is classic Bordeaux and I seem to detect a brickcolored edge?.
Nose is mute, eventually opening up with green notes (grass?).
The palate is dry with underripe blackberries and some earth/herbaceous notes.
The finish is medium-long and very dry. Somewhat disappointed for the vintage and the producer.

Bought on sale for 150DKK/22$US.

Color is deep crimson with beginnings of aging on the rim. On the nose it's dark fruits, some of the eucalyptus I find in most quality Aussie shiraz.
The palate is powerful fruitiness and some secondary notes, tobacco, tar. Not the best performing GAM I've had.
The finish is long.
There's clear sediment in the bottle and some stuck on the inside indicating a warm cellaring(?) and the wine seems to be peaking or past peak. Next time I'll buy a newer vintage to compare.
Drink now.

I bought this one along with an Argentinean Malbec to introduce my friend to some single varieties as he's developed an interest in wine and port. Didn't expect too much, but was pretty confident it would be a good example of the two grapes tasted side by side.

The Colour is deep dark ruby with no signs of aging (still a young wine). Slightly clear on the rim.
The nose is plums and dark red berries. Muted out of the bottle but opens up with some air.
The palate is surprisingly fleshy. Lots of fruit. Soft yet with decent acidity.
Medium finish - a lot longer than expected with a bottle of wine at this price (on sale for 39DKK/6$US).
Great QPR
I wouldn't be afraid of storing it for a couple of years.

"Cool" wine. Classic bordeaux nose and palate. Surprisingly complex for the vintage. There's some development in it still, although it will never be truly great. But for a low-level Cru Classe in a "difficult" vintage, it's quite good, with a long, long finish. 2004 could be another sleeping beauty that is vastly underrated. Drink or keep.

Definitely over the hill. Cork was "rotted" on top - but seemed fine when pulled out. Color is very yellow - almost golden. Nose is sweet (yeasty?) and palate is peculiar - weak, spent, oxidized? Finish is beer-like and despite being drinkable (somewhat) it just seems off. Drink now or discard.

Whoa! What a wine. Dark, brilliant color. Massive cassis on the nose, followed by overripe plums, english licqurice and after some time tobacco. Attac is massive black and red fruit spearheaded by cassis with many nuances. Slight "sour" dairy note on the back. Middle is weak compared to the attac, but the finish is long, long, long - and it gets better as it is gets to breathe. Definitely great wine and it can take a few years or 10 in the cellar.
