This was in the zone, I love the meatiness of the fruit coupled with the big acid and anise notes. Not much to report on the nose but this was just a stunner. Long and lingering finish and legs too. It still feels so youthful but also complex!. I might look for more of this at its current lofty price, but we'll see. I will reiterate, there's never been a Senejac like the '10 vintage. Delicious.

Decanted. Deep, dark cherry-skin colour with garnet fringe. At 1 hour, cool fruit, concentrated, but slightly bitter tannin. A few minutes later, coffee and cassis spell cabernet sauvignon. At 2 hours, the quality barrique shows its poise. Very nicely concentrated, but I'd like to see more length. Which comes not long after, at which point it is clear that I am very close to Cru Classé quality here, and not for the first time with Sénéjac in 2010. Paired with stewed beef ribs, which brings out the sweetness, but after the meal the sweetness dissipates and the wine tightens-up. I'm finding the 2010 Cru Bourgeois generally are not linear in their development and still not fully open for maximum pleasure. I'll leave my other bottles of Sénéjac 2010 untouched for at least another year. Fine with food, but a half-notch lower at very good plus without it.

Crazy good QPR! $18 on futures a million years ago. One hour decant and followed for another 2. This was all about its medium density of black currant, black plum, espresso, cigar, and loam notes. Classic, fun and at peak, the tannins are resolved. Now - 2026.

A strikingly traditional Left Bank offering to grace any aficionado's table, on any day, alongside any other wine. Reminiscent of d'Armailhac terroir. Holding form nicely. Off-the-chain QPR!
Abv 13.5% Savoury this had a beguiling cigar box bouquet which when repeated on the palate enriched blackcurrant and plum fruit. Fully integrated and perfectly proportioned, the tannins were perfectly smooth with a sublime mocha finish. Not just drinking at its peak but outperforms many other Bordeaux chateaux at twice the price. Utterly superb. CHP 92 pts

Strikingly rustic...in all the best ways! Those who most appreciate fruitiness may find this disappointing. This wine of the earth offers blackcurrant, pyrazine, graphite, root vegetables, sous-bois, cut tobacco, and mineral ores. Excellent structure, seamless presentation. In a great place now, and likely to hold form for some years.

Among the more precise and gripping bottles of this offering that I have tasted. Old school in all regards. Levity and balance characterize this wine of the earth. The last sips were best. This bottle had a decade of life ahead of it.

I brought this last bottle to the secondary school old boy gathering in Kowloon City. We had a western dinner of a restaurant owned by an old crew of Cathay Pacific. We consumed 5 btls among four of us.

Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Quite muted with savoury dark hued fruits showing blackcurrant, Plum, sweet spice, touches of cedar, earth here as well, almost aa little closed. In the mouth there is more black fruit generosity, savoury spice and quite tight woody, grainy tannins, all travel long, needs more time for me.

First bottle from 8 purchased and cellared since release. Unfortunately this was Pnp even though I was sure it needed a good decant to show what it has to offer. Dark fruits, dark berries, spice, wood and earth. Restrained fruit with tannins still showing. Cool nose and classic Bordeaux in style. Not scored this time.

This is better than my last bottle, and it's a joy to drink. Not aggressive or overplayed, but just a classic medoc.
Still get some tonka, but lots of graphite, sandlewood, and just a "cool" nose. Feels like good to drink over the next few years, but don't worry about giving this a bit longer.

Difficult to describe the layered complexity and traditional Left Bank satisfaction that this ridiculously affordable offering delivers. Place it in a blind flight of same vintage Classed Growths. It will turn heads. In a great place now, and for a while to come.

Among the best of the bottles I have tasted. Difficult to overstate the wine's Old School quality and substance. Place this in a blind flight of Left Bank Classed Growths and watch it dazzle. It lacks for nothing and represents other worldly QPR! In a great place now and there is no hurry.

Taste good to me. From 750 cellared at 56 since release. Agree with all previous accolades except for creosote. Did not smell any. Needs 90 to 120 minutes to open. Olfactory is ever changing with menthol and eucalyptus at the end of the bottle. Ripe plum when I popped the cork but that vanished. Came back in various degrees during meal. Very versatile. Paired with grilled burgers, cremini mushrooms in olive oil and salt, salad with Sicilian lemon balsamic and EVOO and Egyptian Feta. Killer with Chia chocolate pudding and Lindt 85% chocolate. Yes it was a Bordeaux and food orgy! Drink it now. Can’t see it getting any better but it showed no signs of downward trajectory. . Enjoy mes amis. Ps. The longer it’s open, the more plum fruit emerges (hour 3). Damn! Now sandlewood! I never smell sandlewood! I guess this is a good frickin wine!

From MAG, no formal notes. Wine took an hour to open up, after that … it was unfortunately finished. Next time I give em a 2h breathe. I see some potential, fine, smooth wine with more power than other vintages. Not very complex but a lot fun to drink. Great PQR 90+

Among the more tightly wound bottles of this offering that I have tasted over the last year or so. So much to love. A wine of the earth, terroir-driven in all regards. This bottle needed another five to seven years to enter its wheelhouse. A giant in its simplicity. It belongs with the Left Bank's classed growths of this vintage.
Plum fruit infused with graphite and cedar underpinned with lively tannins. Savoury and fresh, with a perfect structure and balance. Excellent length of finish and punches well above its weight. Terrific. CHP 91pts

Much better showing for me than some previous bottle reviews this year. Where do I begin? Love the density, focus, restraint, concentration, acidity, balance, elegance, terroir...etc. Distinctive bell pepper flavor and aroma notes, a touch of anise, very French, fantastic cru bourgeois. I've had many later vintages and they just don't compare to the '10. This bottle was so amazing!
Drank alongside the same vintage Gruaud Larose, over a long evening.
Rustic Bordeaux, in all regards. Wonderfully funky, powerfully structured, and squarely in its wheelhouse. It played alongside the Classed Growth, with unmistakable purity and overt appeal. Likely to hold form over the next several years. Among the finest QPRs in Left Bank Bordeaux that I have crossed paths with...ever. 93-94.

{cork, 13.5%} A little bricking around a nicely garnet core. Richly modern Bdx nose, with plummy fruit and a chocolatey aspect. A little cigar box oak too. The palate still maintains a medium level of dusty tannin, with medium/low acidity. A ripe vintage, but a modern style too. I’m guessing lots of Merlot here? Plummy & chocolate flavours, blackberry too, medium weight. Fairly even palate presence, medium length finish. Drinking very nicely now; close to peak I’d reckon. Gotta love those ripe vintages.

No sign of crimson now - it's a deep garnet with a substantial core, with just the faintest sign of brick-red at the very edge. Like the last time in 12.2020, this still has its Margaux-like floral nose and the same berry combination, but there has now emerged an underlying complex note of barrique. Complex, because it conveys the sense of the barrel having been steeped in decades of fine wine (after 20 minutes, I even thought it showed what I know of Barolo and Burgundy), before being used as the maturation vessel for this Sénéjac. At that point it had arrived at another level of complexity, yet while this phenomenon lasted for about half an hour, I didn't experience it later. The palate has shed quite a bit of its tannin, though there is still enough of it left to ensure a long life. Gorgeous sweetness which persists from entry till the finish. This probably ranks as the best Cru Bourgeois I have had in over a quarter of a century of drinking them. Very fine at the time of the phenomenon, but fine plus generally and at Cru Classé level.

Drinking beautifully at the moment. Cassis and cedar nose, balanced, good intensity. Medium bodied, harmonious in texture and flavours, cassis, graphite and cedar, fine firm tannins, fine acidity. Classic, a cracker at the price.

Dark ruby colour. Typical Hout-Medoc style, black currant, ripe dark fruits, slight tabacco and peper in the nose. Excellent Medoc. Round tanins, dark fruits, dry with no sweetness, fantastic Cab-driven Bordeaux. Just13.5% alc. Good concentration, in a good age for drinking now. Unbeliveable good price for this quality.
Another excellent bottle! Highly appealing expression of Haut-Médoc terroir, featuring blackcurrant, peppers, tobacco, bay leaf, kelp, discarded railroad tie, and black rock mineral depth. Freakin' delicious! Still going strong! This bottle delivered considerable tannic substance at the back and throughout the high quality finish. I would not hesitate to hold bottles through 2030. Crazy QPR!
Savoury with complex flavours blackcurrant, mint, plums, pencil shavings and graphite. Initially had an earthy character but this transformed to coffee grounds. The tannins are now well-integrated and develops a rich sweetness on the lingering finish. It’s balanced, classy and now at its peak. 90pts

Tightly wound and wonderfully restrained. This showed all the finest qualities of same vintage Classed Growths. Merlot enshrouding a powerful Cabernet Sauvignon core. The whole package on the second day. I need to quit drinking these now...as they will be better in time. Off the chain QPR!
Gosh, this was really singing after a 2h decant. Beautifully aromatic, perfectly balanced tannin, acid and fruit. Tertiary notes starting to come through and tannins are nicely rounded. Much better than the bottles opened 5+ years ago. Absolute bargain.
Drink and enjoy! (93 Excellent wine)

This bottle was completely competent haut medoc, but compared to my best earlier reviews it's somewhat mundane in a relative way. Very little complexity. Very little sediment. Muted nose.
Another spectacular bottle! Along with traditional Left Bank markers, the wine features highly appealing Mediterranean olive medley, kelp, and coniferous forest notes. Firm, subtle power, rounded, balanced, remarkable sense of place, striking appeal. A consistent winner in terms of QPR!
It drinks and handles like Classed Growth Left Bank. Yeah...it is that good!
This is ready for business and whilst not quite up there with the 2012, it is a highly enjoyable wine and excellent value for money. Senejac regularly outdrinks noted second wines and I am a huge fan.

I’ve been pretty reticent to open this 2010 given how proud the tannins have been on many others I’ve tried. But, no, this had such a lovely balance. Lovely fresh berry fruit. Tannins fine and supple, not too dry, lovely spice and a touch of cédât and blackcurrant. At that lovely stage with some of the fruit left and a bit of tertiary meatiness. It opened up after 90mins in decanter and was spot on. Never the depth as some but impressive. I wouldn’t l ave this more than a few years more but certainly near or at its peak.

This was fairly reticent upon opening, so I threw it in a decanter while we cooked a NY Strip. Getting back to it, as a first for me, it just reeked of tonka beans, in a good way - lots of sweet spice, vanilla, and old oak.
On the palate, plums and red currants, and some - but not a ton - of eathiness. The tannins are fairly well integrated at this point. Not long length, but a very nice wine for drinking.
Wouldn't think there's going to be a whole lot of upwards progression on this, but didn't seem in a risk to drink.

This wine has some sentimental value. It’s one of the first wines I bought an entire case of, just to see how good it might be over time. So… over time I drank some. Every few years, another.
Time has been a good friend to this wine. Tannins are well tamed and the fruit presents itself in a lovely fashion from early to late palate. Like 2 peas in a pod with a strip loin roast. One more bottle to enjoy.

A deliciously pure confection of cassis and plum fruit, which overlaid a classic tannic structure. Savoury, this developed a sweet fruited yet paradoxically dry finish. Very classy it had terrific length and was simply exquisite. So pleased I have a couple left in stock! CHP 90pts

Coravin fun - Senejac mini-vertical (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Blackcurrant, touch of Ribena, plum, slight herbaceous underpin, cedar, sweet spice, with agitation starts to show a little alcohol prickle, more blackberry and slight raisin notes. Medium plus intensity acidity, tight, grainy tannins, fruit present but behind both of these attributes. Long, savoury, time required.
This bottle showed elegant maturity along with depth and complexity that only this vintage can provide. Very smooth with creme de cassis and black currant notes. Really satisfying to taste the evolution of this wine.
Still has that prevalent anise like acidity, the fruit is all terroir, the edges are a bit more rounded off now. Hoping my other bottles offer more, but this is still such a unique cru bourgeois in a memorable vintage.
A transcendent bottle of 2010 Sénéjac, notably better than the one tasted last month. Tasted next to the 2018 Lafon-Rochet, an excellent wine, and this was better! Along with traditional purity, the wine showed a sous-bois, mushroom, kelp, tar-like umami that rocked my world! Hell Yeah! Seamless in all regards, perfectly balanced, and friggin' delicious! Other descriptors and accolades escape me.
Among the finest QPRs I have ever encountered in Left Bank Bordeaux.
This bottle showed minimal bricking for its age. Pure Left Bank! It could not be from anywhere else. Total harmony of fruit, earth, and structure. Deeply satisfying bouquet and profile of pepper garden, blackcurrant, blackberry, pomegranate, graphite, gravel, black earth, peat, funk, old railroad tie, and so much more. Noteworthy secondary notes. Nothing tertiary as of yet. Oak is not yet fully integrated, but it will. This bottle had a decade or longer of life ahead of it.
This would hold its own in a blind tasting with Fifth to Third Classed Growths. Among the best examples of high quality Left Bank Bordeaux at ridiculous QPR that I have crossed paths with...ever. 92-93.
Decanted 1hr. With Boeuf Bourgogne. Exactly what a cru bourgeois should be. No pretensions to greatness but excellent refreshment with food. Simple flavour profile, good typicity, a tannic spine and absolutely no alcoholic heat. Very enjoyable.

Good QPR. Classy Bordeaux flavors: cassis, sour black cherries, bitter tar and graphite, cedar, lively acidity, no overripe fruit, quite elegant and juicy, gently tannic, but clearly lacks the depth and length of the classified wines. A much more classy vintage than the sweeter/riper and more approachable 2009 vintage. Ready for drinking, but will hold several years. - 88 points

This is starting to drink really well. Served with steak and panzanella it was a great pairing. This leaned a bit lusher than previous bottles but in a very good way. Excellent showing. I am slightly suspect of the storage my case received before I owned it, having purchased around 2017 IIRC, so I'm drinking these a bit more quickly than I otherwise would have.

Pop and poor. The nose was black berries and fruit cake. More Merlot than Cabernet although the Cabernet is present in a higher portion than the Merlot. Also in the wine a very fruity wine. Quite round with soft tannins. With warming up, there’s a bit the alcohol that pops up. I think this will be better within 3 years.

Deep ruby with a slight orange rim. Attractive sultry aromas of chocolate-mocha, dried earth, ripe blueberries and blackcurrant with a graphite note - almost Pauillac. A soft velvety texture, almost plush, with opulent flavours of chocolate and coffee, tobacco and pencil lead along with fine, powdery tannins. Some layers of complexity this harmonious wine has a heady intensity yet isn't punchy or showy. Certainly modern, this may not have the density and components of a more prestigious wine but is a fine and more-ish example to be enjoyed now. Tasted this only 6 months ago and this has improved markedly!
Fairly simple pallet upon first impressions. No tannins really. Enjoyed with dinner after an hour in the decanter. Continuing to improve with more time in the decanter.

My first experience with Sénéjac has been very encouraging indeed. From a Northern European cellar, so the development here may be somewhat retarded cf. other tasting notes. Broad crimson to darkish red core, with a ruby fringe. Cedar, florals, barrique, malt, cocoa, cranberry and lingonberry bring me pretty close to Margaux. And while it isn't exactly next door to that more prestigious appellation, it's close enough, aromatically, for me to make the nexus. The palate shows class with the 1st sip. That it is medium bodied is unimportant, but what stands out here is the balance and the purity of ripe, yet restrained highish acid and crunchy small red berry. Though still quite tannic, I think this is just at the start of its drinking window. The tannins are so fine-grained and sweet, that I have a guilt-laden pleasure in approaching the aftertaste like a suckling infant. Fine plus and with a decade of pleasure ahead.
Confession... this bottle was stored at around 70 degrees F since purchase in 2013. I had a few bottles of this wine when it was young and it held promise as a solidly built wine that would be excellent around now. Unfortunately, the fruit in this wine barely peeked out amidst tar, stewed fruit, and a slight oxidative note. Too bad, but at least the price paid wasn't so high.

Ripe blackberry, garrigue aromatics; medium+ bodied, mouth-filling and bold texture, still some prominent chalky tannins, cedar and gravel notes predominate - definitely savoury, a discreet seam of acidity woven in, satisfactory length. Good for the price and appellation.

Good, with moments of very good, though I have to say that while I can appreciate where it is today, my last bottle, some six years ago was, on the whole, more enjoyable. Classic medium body, soil, red/black fruits, more soil. Avg finish, complexity. 13,5% abv. Will continue to change, which is not the same as saying it's improving from here. That said, it still has many years of good drinking yet ahead. recommended+

I was anxious about this wine after reading some of the earlier comments. I had a bottle 3 weeks ago and it was unimpressive, but this second bottle speaks to me of bottle variation, because it is lovely. Lots of soft tannins and fruit extract making it almost Southern Hemisphere. But it has lovely body too, and I am going to enjoy drinking the rest of the case. Great value, really good modern Bordeaux

The dark fruit and vanilla really pushed through on this bottle which is drinking much heavier on the mid palate than I recall from a few years ago. Strawberry and tobacco / toast points are much more in the background than before. The earthy notes I noticed before are much more tar like than before. I can't praise this wine for the balance and complexity I appreciated a few years back. It still drinks French, but dare I say jammy. Or maybe my taste buds have changed!

Considerably better than my previous bottle, though I remain sceptical of the longevity of this wine. Richer, creamier fruit, with well defined cassis and plums, perhaps even a touch of cocoa nibs. Secondary characteristics are rather faint, with perhaps a touch of minty tobacco earthiness. Merlot felt quite present in this bottle. Very drinkable, with nice inoffensive tannins. Structurally it felt easy and lacking a certain interest, but sometimes you just want a very tasty claret that is well made without being profound.

First bottle since Christmas 2019. I think that this great wine reached its peak in 2018/2019 and is now on the long slow downward. It is still very recognizable as Senejac 2010 with it's wonderful signature presence but the mystery factor of 'just how good is this wine going to get?' has now been answered. As George Harrison used to say 'All Things Must Pass'.
Deep ruby-crimson. More black fruits but still red fruits from Merlot noted: dust, still faint oak spices, a smear of vanilla, dark cherry coulis and blackcurrant. On the palate there is more blackcurrant along with raspberry paste (compote), a pinch of oregano, some creme fraiche, sweet mid-palate with gentle acid, then tannin builds, fine but the finish seems circumvented at this point. Needs more time, and more complexity, A little 1-dimensional as the moment.

Some baking spices and a bit muted on the aroma, but came around with more air. Like a lot of 2010 Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux,s they are ready to be enjoyed. More on the Cherry, plumb Merlot side, but Cabernet structure there on the palate. Senejac is more on the elegant side, but did Give abundant fruit. Totally over delivered and worthy of being tried. Would recommend a 1 hour decant.

This bottle had the curse of beautifully youthful fruit but mature structure. Decanted about 2 hrs and the nose is classic left bank Claret - blackcurrant en masse, menthol, fragrant woodsy spice. Creamy delicious front palate and then everything drops to a thud. No acid lift, tannins just a faint whisper. Perhaps the food pairing, Pot-au-Feu, was not the best idea, but the impish short finish was really disappointing on a wine that otherwise has so much promise. It makes me cautious to keep my other bottle longer, which is a shame - the tertiary characteristics will be lovely!

Medium to deep ruby with a clear rim. Capsicum, cassis and baking spice notes, medium plus bodied, multilayered, clean silky entry, persistent graphite and dark fruits on the midpalate, lengthy. In a wonderful spot at the moment, enjoy now or hold for another 5 years to soften more and tertiary development.

This sits at a nice intersection of its life - still has the plump fruit of its youth but also tempered by some maturity that has softened the palate and calmed things down a touch. Black cool fruit, fine tannins - years on it yet.
The blend of cabernet sauvignon with smaller portions of merlot, petite Verdot, cabernet franc mean that this wine will stand up well with a robust meat dish. I served with roast venison and savoy cabbage etc and was very pleased with it. The wine is probably towards the point where more aging will not improve it, but the dark fruit and almost coffee notes certainly pleased us. I decanted about 3h before I served it and was pleased I did so as it opened nicely.

This really blossomed and found it’s composure around the 3-4 hour mark open. Give it a good amount of air. Medium ruby color with a light haze and a dash of sediment in the bottle. Medium intensity aroma of excellent typicality. Fairly bold and persistent palate with flavors of juicy dark berries, plum, and fine oak and earth notes. I’m quite impressed with the length and character of the finish. Proper, pleasing, and in its prime. 4+11+17+8= 90

Deep- black cherry to garnet rim Intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant, graphite and wet clay. Full-bodied, this is a gutsy wine abundant with fruit, penetrating and sumptuous. An earthy texture adds grip to the mid-palate and the dark, brooding fruits are joined by tobacco, pencil shavings and charcoal. Talcum powder tannins that are almost resolved; this is a compelling and dense wine. Delicious!

From Coravin. Black cherry, cassis, blackcurrant, a little herbaceous note, pencil shaving, cigar box, leather and plum. On the palate flavours of black hued fruits with a little tobacco leaf, tannins are talc textured and work in conjunction with the flavours of the longish finish assisted by a touch of warmth on the back palate, nice.

After an hour in decanter. Very dark ruby color with a fading hint of age at the rim and a small dash of sediment in the bottle. Beautiful, medium-powered nose of cassis, lavender, bramble, butterscotch/caramel and more flavors of plum, cherry, and graphite on the palate. A big wine that is still light on its feet and goes down easy, in large part due to nearly undetectable alcohol. A good experience at $20. 5+12+15+8= 90
This was just a fantastic buy way back when in EP for about $14. It destroys a lot of Bordeaux that's much more expensive. Recently tasted it alongside Duckhorn Napa Cab 2013 and it was so much more interesting, with so much more depth. Granted, totally different styles, but wish I had bought more of this. Was my last bottle and just getting going.
Has definitely improved with age... Now approaching 10 years... Things are opening up... Gorgeous legs on the glass, deep purple and crimson color, plenty of stuffing and red dark fruits, quite succulent indeed at this stage... Drink up!!! Living up to potential with an excellent QPR $20!

The 2010 Château Sénéjac is in a lovely place right now. On opening, dark fruits are immediately present on the nose. In the glass, it's a very intense inky-deep red. I opened it just 30 minutes before drinking and poured from the bottle, and it was immediately accessible with rich dark fruits on the palate. The body is quite full and well-rounded. Tannins are quite softened but still present, and there is a chocolate hint somewhere in the middle. This Haut-Medoc is now drinking beautifully, which makes me regret that this was my last bottle. If you're lucky enough to have more, then the 2010 is now in its prime, but it would surely keep drinking very well for another couple of years yet.

The nose is clean. The medium intensity aromas show notes of black fruit (wild blackberry, black plum, subtle bramble) and oak (subtle coffee, subtle chocolate). The wine appears youthful.
On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, medium alcohol, and medium(+) body. The medium(+) level tannins are ripe and silky in nature. The flavours have a medium intensity and show notes of black fruit (wild blackberry, black plum). The finish has a medium length, with additional flavours showing: oak (chocolate) and herbaceous characters (subtle green capsicum).
This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the acidity and the alcohol. The silky tannins have a good balance with the acidity and provide a gentle grip on the palate. In its current state, the wine shows primary and secondary characteristics. The wine showed a fruit-forward personality, featuring a black fruit core that is supported by oak characters that are very much in the background. The wine has a finish with good length.
The wine drinks well now, but has potential for further ageing. The fruit intensity is great, and the tannin and acid structure should support the wine as tertiary notes develop.

Haut Medoc Birthday lunch (Bel & Brio, Barangaroo): Muted, slightly savoury, blackcurrant, black cherry, earthy, slightly leathery, slight pyrazine. Dense, savoury, very juicy but closed with slight spice, plenty of tight, drying tannins. Loads of time for me.

At this progression the wine will be a perfect 100 pts by around 2022. This is getting better and better. I just think I opened the first bottles too early, believing that as a non-classified growth it wouldn't be as good. i've learnt a lesson. An excellent wine (and I didn't decant this bottle) with excellent balance, tight fruit and fine grained tannins. Yum.

Tight and dark ruby red. Mostly Cabarnet Sauvignon aromas, with leather, graphite and minerals. Soft and savoury mouth feeling that I guess comes from the Merlot. Quite restrained style.

This has really come together in the last 6 months. The complexity has gone up a notch. The nose is great now. Lovely sense of harmony. The wine seems to be in a sort of perfect place. I recommend reaching for the corkscrew. [1.5 hour decant].

Decanted aggressively. Bit thin at first pour then really opened up after 1 hour. Lovely claret with Smooth plummy fruit with touch of tannins and wood. Seems like now is the time to drink this one.

Raspberry with maybe a little strawberry, cassis, slight saline quality which I enjoy, almost like the beginning hint of salted meat, without the gamy aftertaste. Medium long, bone dry finish.
Really a terrific wine and very well executed. Much better than the bottle I consumed earlier in the week, which suggests it was an off bottle.
At around 8 years of age, this is now a pnp wine for me. I have a passive cellar and will aim to drink these over the next year. If you have a refrigerated cellar, perhaps you can get away with a bit more time. Either way, drink now or over the next year.
Day 2 update:
Saved about 1/3 of the bottle to try the next day. It is still drinkable but half the wine it was on day 1. Has a more subdued, earthy funk to it that it did not have yesterday. Fruit is also a bit more faded. Still good, but knocked it out of the park for me day 1.
Although a skewed comparison, we opened a 2013 Blackbird Arise Napa Bdx (approx 2/3 merlot and 1/3 CS, with maybe some PV), much richer which the wife preferred over this wine on day 2. I still preferred the Senejac as the Blackbird was a bit rough out of the gate. I presume the Blackbird will taste better tomorrow.
Opened and decanted for an hour prior to drinking. Bottle was much thinner and muted than I remember this wine being. Hoping it was an off bottle. Saved a little for day 2 and it declined further. Will open another bottle soon and PNP to see how it goes.
Will refrain from rating.

Bought this 3 years ago from Majestic Wine for 18 quid, and what great value. Needed an hour or two to open up, and is unprepossessing at first taste..... but what a beautifully balanced, long and complex wine! I've started the search for more. Day two - took the second half down to the pub for a day 2 tasting - still fresh and absolutely wowed the "experts". I've upgraded to 92. Wine society has the 2016 available at £56 for six (pre tax and duty).
6 hour decant. 5th bottle of 18. Best bottle so far. Beautiful initial nose. I want every bottle of wine I open to smell this good. The bitterness and hollowness of a few years ago have been pummeled to non-existence and replaced by a powerful structure which has come to the fore. This is now as broad and spacious as a classified growth. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Flavours are dark and fruity with no secondary notes. I do find the flavour and concentration not quite the match of the structure, so slight imbalance there, and I catch myself thinking 'if only it had a bit more flavour and persistence...'. Still can't complain too much as this is a terrific wine and great value.
On a side-note: I drank this side-by-side with Peyrabon 2010. The Senejac was the better wine. It's structure was a cut above the Peyrabon. The Peyrabon had the better flavours though, and better intrinsic balance.
This bottle needed a lot of time to come out of hibernation. This one is a bit more rounded and broad than previous bottles. Still feels so young, firm, and finely balanced. The finish is long and filled with grip, and some anise notes. Sad to say this is my last bottle of a great vintage for this modestly priced wine.
Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Savoury berry and blackcurrant, a touch of animal, polished oak. In the mouth there is fresh acidity, tangy black fruit, tight drying tannins and it's long and savoury. Needs time though it shows promised.

this bottle gave a better showing with more fruit and more balance, after 30 minutes or so in the glass the tannins showed but this is normal for a young claret

This is brilliant! Needs 5-6 hrs aeration. Still very youthful. Has aromas of floor polish, coffee, plums, blackcurrants, gravel hints, blackberries and cassis. Its medium bodied spherical and lush red and blackfruits palate has nice coffee oak sheen. Ends long and nicely tannic. 13.5%. Will be lovely with a nice rare fillet steak with pepper sauce.

Third time tasting this since 2014, with similar notes and impressions each time. Still very young, negligible bricking, impressive tension and firmness. Delicious beams of blackcurrant, blackberry, savory herbs, and olive essences cascade over a powerful graphite, gravel, and mineral ore frame. Medium plus acid, medium tannin, lively and satisfying. The wine's precise structure will allow it to evolve for twelve to fifteen years. A rock solid (pun intended) 93 point wine as it sits, any bit more of essentially anything good would push the score to 94 points. Excellent QPR, which I should have bought by the case.
This would perform exceptionally well in a blind tasting with same vintage Classed Growths, up to Third me thinks. Its profile and structure, for example, are reminiscent of Châteaux Lagrange and Lafon-Rochet.
This is delicious PnP or after 3 hours+ aeration. Has fragrant aromas of tobacco, flowers, cedar, blackberries, raspberries, cassis. Its broad shouldered exuberant black and blue fruited medium bodied palate has great density, a lovely oaky fruity and delineated middle. Ends super long and a bit dry. I am really impressed with this wine's length. 13.5%. Needs laying down 3-5 years. The 2009 was more open.

Eye: the depp puprle is fading to its core showing that it has some years on her. Nose: Black fruits, cedar, oak and graphite or pencil shavings Palate: Sweet black fruits but the fruit is now sharing the stage with some dark earth, oak with integrated tannins and medium + finish.
Overall this wine was very nice and hit the spot with the grilled rib-eye and roasted sweet potato. She seems open for business and is in her prime drinking window. I would think the wine will remain here for at least another 1-2years but there really isn't much worth in waiting unless you have many bottles left. Enjoy!

Nice deep purple color. Medium intensity on the nose, black fruit, cassis and cedar notes. Black cherry taste with spice. Soft tannins with a nice medium finish.
Nice wine, especially given the price of $20. Some tobacco and faint herbal/green notes. I would have guessed Cab Franc. Tony and Eric also liked this.

Definitely a better bottle. A little bit more fruit, but that within the context of bordeaux, and no bitterness at the end. It has a nice balance supported with slightly grippy tannins, and a nice medium long dry finish. Really very good for the price I paid.

Really great acid and dark fruit balance. A real overachiever. Sadly only one bottle left. Will be tough to keep my hands off. Will seek more. Love the precision here.
Had my only prior bottle 3 years ago, when it was still too rough to drink. Wow, what a difference. Brief decant and immediate satisfaction. But as it sits in the glass, the aromas start to deepen, the taste starts to evolve. It's never going to secretly be Pontet Canet, but it's maybe the best 2010 cru bourgeoise I've had. This is a terrific value, mid-weight, nice length, tannins starting to resolve, and now my house wine until we drink through the case. At which point I'll still have a case to age, because I'm enthusiastic.

Quel rapport Q/P!

A typical Senejac, with dark, rich, chocolatey fruit and a delicious oak presence. Also has a lovely streak of freshly sliced green pepper. Age has knitted these together and this is now very settled. Has lovely acidity and some savoury tannin at the end, so this will certainly age, though I'm not sure that's what this wine is meant to do; to provide delicious, ripe, exciting but proper Bordeaux at a fantastic price. 90
Double decant. Biscuit, slight toast, meatiness, blackcurrant tending to cassis, slight cedar and sweet spice. On the palate there is lovely blackcurrant fruit, ripe but savoury tannins, touches of cedar, almost a bit like a subdued new world wine. Not massive long but very good indeed.

Coravin fun - Senejac mini-vertical (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Darker and more brooding black fruit than the 2009, less overtly ripe and more woody with dirty cedar, vanilla and cream over slight tobacco leaf. On the palate it's spicy and the black fruits are joined by quite dense, though integrated, chewy tannins. Bit of black tea here as well as an almost meaty soy note. Nice.

Too lean upon opening, gained some flesh with 30-60 minutes of decanting. Not overly ripe, with some mature plums on the palate. The finish is short though. Solid value, overall.

Very fruity and rather well balanced. This was fine by itself but took on another dimension with the thai curry we ate it with. We had it in the decanter for a couple of hours beforehand which definitely helped. It would seem to have time on its side and I'm certainly looking forward to the 2014 and 2015 vintages when they arrive!
First of a case. Very good, and very young. Needed more air than we gave it really. Only started to shine and pick up weight at the end of the bottle. Thinking 11 more may not be enough. Also ordering more '14 and '15...

Rich crimson. Resinous legs. Beautifully well-structured frame. Nose of blueberry syrup, wet stones, graphite, leather, cigar box and a whiff of eucalyptus. Austere palate. Finely-grained tannins give way to bittersweet cacao and crunchy blackberry seed. I know there are more buried flavors that will be revealed in time. Very classical. A brief editorial: I love this wine.
Have been hanging on to this one for a while, finally opened and was not disappointed . Full flavors, dark yet smooth plenty of life in it. dry yet fruity in an earthy way great bottle
Wow. Wish i had more of this. Purchased this one bottle 2 years ago.
Amazing nose on opening. black cherry, fresh currants, menthol, violet, and ashy minerals.
After an hour, drinking nicely. full body, integrated acid. Oak is present but not obtrusive. Tannins still young and dominate the second half but lovely fruit and nuanced flavors upfront. creamy black and blue fruit lifted by plummy acidity followed by sweet oak and brown sugar. Savory and bitter green herb notes are amplified by the tannins, making the palate fall short of the gorgeous nose.
all things considered this is a tremendous value and worth double the $25-30USD asking price. Wish i bought more 2010s
Facil de beber com ampla variedade de comidas Pouco aberto e já abriu. Não ficou demais para uma massa com molho vermelho, nem para carne de franco escura com cogumelos.

Served side by side with 2010 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. Decanted for 1 hour before drinking. NY Strip, grilled veggies, Pesto Penne pasta and green salad served as a backdrop. Much as the previous bottle, however the Merryvale presented a very similar flavor profile and slightly overshadowed the expressiveness of this wine. It continued to evolve thru dinner and was the more tannic of the two wines, which showed as a dustiness on the palate and a more drying finish. 92+

A dark ruby core with a garnet rim. A hugely expressive nose of ripe blackberry and blackcurrants, plums and hints of dried cooking herbs and dried orange peel. While the palate retains all the black fruit flavors, it falls disappointingly short of the complexity promised by the nose. A firm structure of medium high acidity and chalky tannins. The finish stops a beat or two too early, seemingly overpowered by the drying tannins.
Poured a small glass on opening and gave it a swirl, before decanting the rest. Immediately I knew this was a great bottle of wine. Cherries and herbs on the nose. On the palate, ripe red and black fruits, a hint of sweetness, pencil shavings, and a little spice. The second pour was not as expressive, the third a bit acidic. Over time the wine opened up to display all the character I discovered on opening: ample fruit up front, pleasing herb and mineral notes, with a backbone of firm tannins, good acidity and a long finish. Wine like this is why I keep coming back to Bordeaux. It will surely be a candidate for my WOTY.

An austere 93/100 (3.8/5.0) from me. This Left Bank Cab Sauv (48%) and Merlot (37%) dominant, Cabernet Franc (11%) and Petit Verdot (4%) blend hails from vines of 35 yrs on average in the Haut Medoc subregion. And it comes from the acclaimed 2010 Bordeaux vintage. The winery sits in the mid Cru Bourgeois Superieur classification where Janis Robinson MW gave it a 17 saying "really rather sophisticated".
After some much needed air, the heady nose leads into a balanced medium-bodied, slightly drying and tight dark berry and savoury wine of ripe blackberries, mulberries, cinnamon, black olives, sage, balsamic vinegar, with a touch of cream vanilla & spice. Nice.
Decanted for four hours. This definitely needs food to begin with. The second glass is better than the first. The flavors and aromas were dark fruits with hints of prunes and plastic. Some red fruits appear after a swirl. There is a very welcome vanilla creaminess which helps soothe some of the bitter flavours. The fruit flavours on the palate and finish are fairly simple and could do with a bit more refinement. This wine has improved since last year most noticeably in the lovely soft texture. This is great on Day 2; less rustic, more relaxed and easy-drinking. 88-89 points.
Good wine! Flavours like paprika, black pepper, chocolat, tobacco and cassis. Taste : thyme, paprika, smoked oak and a little bit tannins. This wine has a long and nice aftertaste. Open 2h before drinking. Best enjoyed between 2016 and 2020.
I am a big fan of where this wine is going. Opened the second of 6 bottles tonight and noticed a nice difference. I still think this wine is drinking young, but it is maturing. All of the things that I enjoyed previously are still there but it requires less time and air to get there.
Drank with grilled filet mignon and the wine explodes in your mouth with food. Buy some and store it... will be worth it.
Still loving it...this bottle shows intensity, concentration, and focused fruit accompanied by lots of acid...but its all in balance! Not a heavy wine but not light either. The finish has a touch of anise. Still drinks like a very young wine. A really nice way to spend $20 bucks.

Tasted at a wedding in Setia City Conventional Centre, KL Part of a Mini Vertical of Chateau Senejac 2009, 2010, 2012 (Not decanted)
The wine is clean with medium ruby colour and legs. On the nose it is clear with medium intensity and aroma of vanilla, oak, red/black cherry, and berry, leather, and tobacco.
On the palate it is dry with medium minus acidity, medium minus tannin, 13.5% alcohol, medium minus intensity of strawberry, black berry, chocolate, graphite, and herb, sort of stewed fruits and astringent tannin. Medium body, medium finish. Good wine, drink now over the next 5-6 years.

Drank over three days. Fresh and vivacious bouquet chock-full of blackcurrant and peppers with strong green olive, herb (rosemary), dark chocolate nibs, gravel, and graphite notes. The attack is also fresh. At the mid palate the wine becomes rich, stalwart, and bracing, with blackcurrant, peppers, dark chocolate, and olives especially pronounced. The back and finish thoroughly satisfy. Well structured, medium fine-grained tannins, judicious oak, exceptional balance. A beautiful wine that drinks better than many fifth to third classed growths. Excellent QPR!
I would agree with others mirroring IDRUM4WINE's tasting notes. Additionally, it did not hit its stride until about 4 hours in the decanter. At that point it was a wonderful treat. Excellent concentration without being overly extracted. Finish was also very memorable and lasted a good 45+ seconds. This is worth buying and letting it hang out in the cellar for another 3-5 years. If you drink it now, let it breath for a while. 91-92 now. 92+ in a few years.

This was exactly what I was hoping for. Pours a beautiful dark ruby, tight and unyielding nose, dark and dry fruit that is dense but light and lively, good acid, firm tannins, finishes with anise notes. Still so young, what a great value. For those of you on CT that are focused on high end Napa Cabs I urge you to think outside the box and try this incredible wine. The flavors and structure of this wine could only come from France.
First taste of this wine. Good structure and depth. The fruit is muted at this point though. Dry bitter finish which is not unpleasant but does lack any wow factor. I think I just opened this bottle way too early.
Second look at this wine and while I wasn't impressed with the last bottle, I enjoyed this one. The wine has a crisp, crunchy character due to the weight and acidity. A little dusty on the nose. A mix of red and black fruits with light accents of licorice and tobacco on the palate.

This wine is rich, lush, and balanced with good concentration. Could not stop drinking with my Top Sirloin with its long finish and savoury follow through.
Great nose - lively dark fruit w/ tobacco and leather. Elegance. Refined. Already speaking of great balance.
Starts a bit tart but opens quite plump and graciously. Raspberry, blk. currant, and vanilla = WILD STRAWBERRY.
Slightly sweet and faintly oily things going on like toasted marshmallow - a return to tobacco but with charcoal and graphite. Dusty pepper Merlot notes too!
All of this..yet orchestrated, not random! A UNIQUE BLEND of 4 varietals masterfully crafted to say the least. Lets just say I am down with the Cru!! Possibly my fave!

What a difference six months make! This was now open for business whereas this summer it had to be coaxed for hours. After a 1h decant it was smooth, well balanced and retains its power. Not hugely complex or anything, but a great everyday drink, that in a blind tasting I think would punch way above its weight. Congratulations to the Tesson team for this.
Tasted next to an Echo de Lynch Bages 2010, these two wines are worlds apart. A fruit-forward wine of surprising length and complexity, with tannins still prominent, but likely to integrate over time (unlike the Echo). Lovely cedar and blackberry, this is not unlike the young Sociando 2005, and that wine has developed beautifully. Give this another 5 years and you are in for a treat.

This was super-funky right on the open, extremely harsh and angular. After treating it to a decant and slow-ox for 24h it became much more drinkable, the edges smoothed out somewhat but the intensity and long finish remained. It will be interesting to see how this behaves in a few years, I still did not enjoy it as much as some others, too un-balanced still for me. For now 88.

Very pleased with this purchase. Tasted blind, this could be mistaken for a much more expensive bottle of Bordeaux. It has a lot of stuffing, and should evolve nicely for 10 years or so. We decanted it six hours ahead of enjoying it alongside marinated flatiron steaks from the Big Green Egg. What a pairing! This dense, dark-fruit-packed wine also has prominent notes of smoky oak and baking spices at this stage, and is already delicious now in my opinion, though does require a lot of air time, and I look forward to opening my remaining two bottles over the next five years at some point.

Coravin fun - Senejac mini-vertical (My place, parramatta, sydney): From Coravin. Slightly meaty notes, brambles and cedar...in the mouth the wine is fresh and juicy, tangy with black fruits, long. A bit of a young fogey, restrained and classic Bordeaux, approachable now but showing great promise and really very good, especially at this price point.

Dark red/purple at the rim - fresh dark fruits on the nose. Medium to light bodied, pure aromatic dark fruits on the palate, slightly grainy but not obtrusive tannins. This wine is drinkable now, but will be better in a couple of years: very appealing and nicely balanced this is a wine that will give great pleasure. Good value.

Popped and poured. Smells nice with pungent berry fruits, some green leafy/bell pepper notes and a touch of earth. The palate is a bit disappointing after the promising nose. You think there is going to be some depth and more fruit but it is a bit lean, with darker fruit tones, fairly high acid, and light to medium but fine tannin. Some earth, and perhaps some graphite and mineral notes too. 15 minutes in and I am a bit indifferent but the wine is growing on me. Ann hates it and said I can have the rest of her glass. It's too lean in fruit and high in acid for her. I'll see how it does with some air and add more to the note later or tomorrow. On day two, this has put on just a little weight and gained a little texture. Silky and soft but with fairly high acid. It has lost the green notes and now shows some tar and bitter chocolate. I am still surprised at how much fruit there is on the nose. Lots of berries and it almost reminds me of a zin. On the palate though it is more like a barbera. Black fruits, low tannin and high acid. Will try again on day three. I didn't get back to this on day three but today, on day four, this is drinking surprisingly well. I rarely like a wine after it has been open a few days but this is an exception. I'm glad I didn't give up on this on the first day.

Wine with the boys (Jason's in Leichhardt): The wine is beginning to pick up some tertiary leather to go with brambly and slightly cassis driven fruit and vanilla oak. With time this wine broadened on the palate and seemed to grow into itself - at about AUD 25 from auction it's currently punching above it's weight. I've got the 2004 which is drinking very nicely now so took a punt on the basis of that rather than the two previous tastings I've had of this vintage (where it showed rather simple) and I'm happy I did. Nice

Tasted blind. Clear, bright, deep purple, with only a little rim variation. Medium staining and legs. The nose is clean and medium (+) in intensity and developing, with black fruit, red fruit, green herbs, a little earthiness and some minerality. Subtle oak. The palate is dry, medium (+) in intensity and consistent with the nose, with black fruit, red fruit, some sweet tobacco, leather and smoke. The tannins, alcohol, acidity, finish and acidity are all medium (+). This is drinking well now but is likely to continue to improve for several more years.

Really nice wine considering how young. My rating is based on how good it is for it age. Double decanted and frank over 2 days. Deep garnet in color with a fragrant nose. Ripe fruit very present but not out of balance. Tannins provide some grip but even at this age it wasn't in any unpleasant manner. Finish was long and coated the palate. Great QPR.

Drank over two days. Upon opening the wine featured a captivating bouquet of blackcurrant, graphite, herbs, charred earth, and gravel, with green pepper and tarry notes wafting in and out. It tasted like it smelled, with intriguing texture, great acid, and serious structure. On the second day the wine featured an elegant and layered textural component, with incredible weight, enhanced by notable crème de cassis accents.
A serious and structured offering that drinks well above its modest price tag and would very likely compare favorably against far more pricey classed growths. Time will serve it well. It should evolve for three to five years and drink well through 2025+.

This wine isn't in a great spot at the moment. I presume it will improve with time. Double decanted and left for 2 hours before drinking. Upon opening it smells wonderful. The nose is plummy, fruity and elegant. The problem is that the emperor doth wear no clothes, i.e. the palate and finish are watery and weak. Quite disappointing after the nice nose. It is very ordinary and unmemorable. Day 2. Improvement. Nose was great, the finish had filled out a bit. I drank this alongside a similarly-priced 2004 Peyrabon (3-hour decanted) and the Peyrabon was noticeably better.

Enormously tannic at the moment, this only opened up after an hour. Medium to full bodied. Lovely sweet dark fruits emerged once the wine opened, but I feel that this wine is one that can go long - revisit this starting around 2020 (at the earliest). A waste to open these now unless it's to gauge how it will develop.

Ripe, sappy, dark fruit aromas abound, with herbal and soil nuances emerging at the one hour mark. And while the nose screams ripe, the palate is firmly, tightly and precisely structured. A bit of a conundrum, this, but it works, and it's quite fine now and for the next 10 years. An incredible value. 13,5% abv, highly recommended
Ingratiating, exotic aromas of red berries, flowers, cedar wood, minerals and some balsamic notes precedes succulent, round and harmonious taste with good length and touch of anise in the finish. Very immediate and charming and good value.

Decent Bordeaux, good length and good value. Decanted for 1.5 hours, don't find much on the nose, smooth and rounded, however, it's not a complex wine.

Decanted one hour and drank over the next 2. Crimson red. Nose of plum, baking spices, compost, bicycle tire and slight mint. Round, medium bodied and well balanced. More plum, bruised blackberry, clove, earth and chocolate. Finish was a bit short but you have to remind yourself of the price. Sightly acidic finish leads me to believe it could use a bit more time.

I've been hearing the chat about this wine for years now but never got round to drinking one. Well, waddya know! I've been missing out. Beautiful balance, already approachable and time in the decanter brings this out of its shell. Cloves, plums, black fruit at first but then raspberries, spices, mint and red fruits. The finish is a touch clipped but this is £14 per. Bordeaux takes a lot of flack for lack of value for money. This is a the opposite.
Ultimo lunch time tasting (Ultimo wine centre (but now vintage cellars)): Brambles, blackcurrants, mint, almost black cherry fruit, very ripe fruit to the fore on the nose over cream and vanilla. In the mouth there are flavours of concentrated, savoury, black currant then spicy, tight tannin. Simple. A little alcohol warmth encroaches on the finish. Hmm

After an hour decant....The wine had a pure purple core with a violet rim. Notes of spice, oak, blackberry, blueberry cassis on the nose. On the palate flavors of black fruits and dark chocolate. The wine has good balance for being young with med alcohol and finish.
Over all i thought this very good left bank wine and superb value at $20/bottle. I will be picking up a few more to enjoy the development but it doesn't seem to need much time to peak unless it gets a second wind...Enjoy!

- Crimsom color. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry and raspberry with a medium body. Narrow texture with a medium finish - Nice Bordeaux, from a good vintage. Is very young. Should benefit from cellaring.

- Purple color and aromas of cherry, black currant and mint - Outstanding value Cru Bourgeois from a great vintage. At $25 a bottle I suggest stocking up on a case of 12 and storing in an appropriate storage unit till 2020. At that point drink half and give the other half away as outstanding gifts. The wine is young and will need some time for the acidity to mellow but all elements are present for a correct left bank Bordeaux

In fact, in 2010 or other extraordinary years, almost any "Cru Bourgeois" can attain amazing levels and thus become a fantastic value. At US$20 at Costco, here you have fruit, complexity, balance, huge structure and long finish. A bit too much fruit at first, which may (or may not) be a good ageing sign. Enjoy! (I am going to stock up a few cases....).

Dark fruits, good freshness on a mostly closed nose. Sweet, sappy extract stands out on the palate. Good measure of acid and oak in the background. A great success for its level, and a poster child for the old adage "little guys in big years".
-- popped and poured -- -- tasted a couple pours, blind, over approx. 1.5 hours --
Nose was very pleasant: red-fruited; high-toned; lots of verve; excellent. Medium bodied. Well-balanced on the palate: great acid; floral; red-fruited; hint of garrigue on the finish; excellent; ridiculous QPR. One of my favorite wines of the day.

This is going to sound ridiculous, but when I had my first sip, I pictured a foal standing up for the first time, clumsy, staggering, all potential and no experience. This is the real thing, it's going to be a racehorse of some sort, but it's years too early -- 5? more? -- to tell what it's going to be exactly. It's got the fruit and the tannins and the lingering finish but (as per the vintage) it's rough right now. I predict that the $19 bucks it cost me will pay off well. Like Seabiscuit? Ok, I won't push it. But you get my drift.
Impressed with this wine for the value. A serious steal at the price point I paid, and felt like a much more high end wine - maybe its the vintage. But this was full of ripe blue and black fruits, black currant, tobacco, rich mid palate, great mouth feel. Tons of blueberry and blackberry richness - smooth finish. Very new world and primary but drinks excellent right now and would consume over the next 5 years or so. Tremendous QPR.

Opened with boozy fruitcake and clove. Very odd and more Veneto than Bordeaux. After a day, the rich sweet (but not cloying) lush creamy black fruit continues but with white chocolate, more oak and prominent tannins which are still smooth but nicely powdery at the toasty charcoal and liquorice finish. Very nice to drink now and although I'm sure it will evolve well into something quite different it is pleasure to have a young and tasty Bordeaux requiring no patience.

Opened last night to sample. Tight, as expected for the age. The black and blue fruits came through strong but with no balance. I decanted it and left it for 24 hours. Tonight it began to open. The blackberry and graphite are more distinct now and I can taste vanilla as well. Bouquet is much stronger, and it is becoming a joy to sip. Won't taste this again for a while. It needs 5-10 yrs in the bottle.

Bright, deep purple-ruby. Somewhat closed but reasonably compelling nose of primary blackberry, blueberry, violets, cedar and dried herbs. Savouriness to the palate, with good tight tannin structure and bright acidity. The finish is possibly a bit thin and short, but a good wine, particularly for the price.

I would not regard this red is a classic bordeaux. A bit restraint on nose showing berries, licorice, tea and a hint of mint. Fruit forward, full bodied with chewing tannic. Good structured and the fruit is balanced by just enough acidity. However, the finish is a bit hallow compare to the front and mid palate. All in all it is a wine in its class.

Ripe but showing restraint. Aromas of raspberry, blueberry, chocolate, mint and tea. Polished. Alcohol spikes but not too bad. Medium to full bodied, medium acid, firm slightly bitter tannin that asserts itself with time, nice balance. Great purity and reasonably fresh. The finish is a bit stunted though I suspect it will unwind with time This should be very nice in 5 years. Very good modern cru bourgeois and true to vintage.

CHP 90pts

Medium plus intensity acidity, tight, grainy tannins, fruit present but behind both of these attributes. Long, savoury, time required.

- 88 points

Intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant,
graphite and wet clay.
Delicious!

Belle fraicheur.

Haut-Medoc lunch (Bel & Brio, Barangaroo, Sydney): The appearance is clear and medium ruby in colour. Tears are visible.

Pnp right from the cellar.
Nice vibrant nose, cherries and violets.

Nose: Black fruits, cedar, oak and graphite or pencil shavings
Palate: Sweet black fruits but the fruit is now sharing the stage with some dark earth, oak with integrated tannins and medium + finish.
Overall this wine was very nice and hit the spot with the grilled rib-eye and roasted sweet potato. She seems open for business and is in her prime drinking window. I would think the wine will remain here for at least another 1-2years but there really isn't much worth in waiting unless you have many bottles left. Enjoy!

The back and finish thoroughly satisfy. Well structured, medium fine-grained tannins, judicious oak, exceptional balance. A beautiful wine that drinks better than many fifth to third classed growths.

I think I have found what I am looking for!

Enjoy!

Trying hard to like this but it is a little thin and it needs air.

Nice nose of blackberry, cherry, cassis. Lavender, tobacco, mocha on palate with full mouthfeel, silky tannins that were at first a little harsh but softened up with time/air. Wonderful lingering juicy finish.

great day-to-day bordeaux, in germany still available for 13-15 euros, just ordered a case, no clue why parker gave the 09-vintage 93p and 10 only 89p., to me, this wine in 5 years will be 92-93p and as such a true bargain !!

Certainly young but very ripe, structured and overall wonderfully balanced. Nice long tannic finish suggest a great future. Will buy a few for the cellar. Great QPR for under $20. 90+

Very deep, dark fruits on the nose. Spice. Quite expressive; Lovely opulence on the palate. Delicious wine with really good length. A very nice effort. 91-93
