Aline Wines’ Grower Champagne Tasting (WineHouse, Los Angeles): This is almost a Blanc de Noir with the blend of 40% PN, 40% PM, and only 20% Chardonnay. It really shows and I would think it was a rosé by the nose. Slightly coller colour, too. Strawberry, raspberry, whipped cream. Lighter body than I expected. Red apple peels. 8/18

The waiter had recommended this champagne in the outstanding Restaurant 'Miceli', Selva, Mallorca.
12% Alc., organic, small producer, contains 70% Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, yellow color with some orange red reflexes from the Pinot Noir.
Nose: Flavor exudes classic high quality champagne, crumbly apple, a bit minerality, beautiful.
Palate: Fresh and animating wonderful balanced initial taste, lovely beautiful apple aromas, a combination of the best of 'Elster', 'Jona Gold' and 'Topaz', lemon zest, multilayered, everything so balanced and drink animating, exciting, very long lasting finish.
Everything I expect from a very good Champagne. Liked it more than the 'Comtes de Champagne' 2011 I had 10 days ago.

'18 base; d/g 06/21; 4 g/l dosage. Dry and rich with some lovely notes of apple pie, lemons and brioche. Good depth and biscuity bite for this level although she does dry out a little on the finish. Has an unrelenting, angular and rasping textural quality that is something of an acquired taste and the final impression is of a wine that I want to like more than I actually do. This doesn't fully come together for me.

From magnum; the nose gave a reduced or trapped sulfur note that was off-putting to some, past that I found an interesting mix of red fruit, bread notes, slight grain, peach and nectarine; the palate had a medium yet wiry feel to it, not too dry, grilled lemon and yeast; a style that feels firmly rooted in terroir but the message isn’t coming through clearly enough to really like it, new producer for me, interested in future bottlings to see if they’ve improved as I’m confident they will.

Pale gold colour. Small and lively bubbles. Medium developing nose with red apples, ripe lemon, brioche, toast, butter and wet stone. Medium taste of red apples, lemon, brioche, toast and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good NV Champagne. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well as an aperitif, or with shellfish.
Light gold with a very fine mousse. Peach, red apple, lime & brioche. Well integrated acidity with slightly oxidative style. Ok length. Lacking a bit of depth but like the balance and was enjoyed.

Nose: The nose is aromatic and balanced with toast, red apples, brioche, biscuits, spiced pears, stone fruits, and nutty tones. There is good depth with a real toasty quality to it.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity. The toastiness of the nose follows through with brioche, spiced pears, red apples, toast, stone fruits, and biscuits.
Overall: This is excellent and shows off the oxidative side of champagne. This doesn’t overdo it on that side as the fruit has a bit of bruising, but with some freshness.

Recent purchase. Disgorged 03/20. Pours medium straw with almost the lightest touch of copper. The nose is low complexity and low intensity, showing green apple peel, lemon juice, bread crusts, and plant stem. The palate is fairly sharp and acidic, feels like low dosage. Without looking I’d guess under 5 g/l. The finish is fairly short focused on green apple peel and lemon juice. On the plus side the texture of the bubbles are quite nice, but all in all I find this quite simple and ordinary. Am I missing something?

More tart than last time in the way of citrus expression. Like lemon oil. Still on the savory side. This isn't really a wine I would give to non-geeks. The notes of wood add a nice accent without being overt. Also richer than I remember. Pretty good but not something I would reach for when I want 'Champagne'. As I mentioned, this leans geeky. It's more intellectual than straight pleasurable.

A good amount of yellow peach color. On the nose is a touch of fresh cut nectarine or strawberry. But also salty, more savory types of things. I kept coming back to smoked salmon. Mineral. Palate is more lemony stone fruit with a touch of sweet tart berry. Between the color and the fruit notes I had to guess this was mostly Pinots of some sort. Looks to be 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chard. Cork has "06 - 19". Going to have to assume that is 2019 disgorgement making this mostly 2015 with ~30% reserves. Pretty good. Sort of straddles the more geeky and the more widely pleasurable. I'd like to try this when the base is a better vintage and look forward to trying other bottles from this house.

Really nice and refreshing Champagne -- lemon juice, lemon curd, general citrus, green apple and a hint of brine that gave it some subtle savoriness to balance everything out. Not much by way of yeast character, much more fruit driven.
Not going to redefine champagne, but a nice focused example of what it is.

Bright and refreshing with crisp acidity. Medium fine mouse. This is a young tasting and exquisite, taught wine - dry, but not bone dry, with a sense of restrained ripe fruit, not sugar, providing that the limited amount of sweetness. (It's not sweet, it's just not challengingly dry). The fruits on display are Meyer lemon and green apple. I'm usually one to go for toast and yeast in my champagne, and this has none of that biscuity age or toast, but I just loved this with my branzino and all by itself.

A multi-vintage Champagne based on the 2014 vintage (65%) with a hearty portion of reserve wines (35%). The blend consists of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Meunier (40%) and Pinot Noir (20%). Bottled in early 2015, aged for 3 years on the lees. Disgorged in February 2018.
Pale lime green color. Fresh, clean and quite linear nose with intense aromas of Granny Smith apple, some leesy yeast and a little bit of zesty citrus fruit. Not much in the way of autolysis. The wine is round, juicy and quite mellow on the palate with flavors of juicy golden apples, some leesy yeast, a little bit of chalky mineral bitterness and a hint of ripe white fruits. Moderately high acidity with rich, soft mousse. The medium-long finish is clean and fresh with flavors of Granny Smith apple, some sweeter white fruits, a little bit of yeasty leesy character, a hint of chalky minerality and a touch of sappy herbal character.
A solid and balanced but also rather unsurprising Champagne. Refreshing and enjoyable, but feels so polished that it lacks all the characteristics that would make it feel memorable. A reliable textbook NV Champagne, in both good and bad.

N/V Champagne (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 20% Chardonnay, 40% P.N., & 40% Pinot Meunier; "Grapes from the Montagne de Reims (namely Ludes & Villedommange) and Vitriat (namely Vavray Grand); Reserve wine usage: 25-40% of previous years; Aging: 30-36 mos on lees; Dosage: 6g (of sugar)"
N: Initial barnyrd (?), but blows to mushrooms/forest floor with GLIMPSES of bread dough?
P: Med, poss MF, body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt adequately balanced by an acidity which makes itself felt through the LONG, tangy/swt (45:55) finish. Perhaps better as an aperitif, though could certainly finish with food. My VG+. [This vendor's $37.95 is at LEAST $2 < the next lowest of wine-searcher's fairly limited entries.]

Did not bother with the notes on new year's eve - a nice enough champagne, that I wouöd serve without hesitation to anyone of my non-geek friends. Being disgorged in April 2016, this felt like it had a mellowed acidity and delivered a good creamy mousse. I found it enjoyable but the dosage came through a little too much for my taste, which I feel is evolving when it comes to champagne to favour drier styles, unless the acidity can bear the dosage.

Pale & light yellow in color with a very fine & constant perlage. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples & lemons/limes with overtones of floral & yeasty/toasty notes & minerals. Light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of apples & lemons/limes with yeasty/toasty & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present.

N: Closed, but yeast SEEMS on top
P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with yeasty notes & a beautiful acid balance which dominates the LONG, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with OCCASIONAL notes of honey. Based on vintage 2012, with 40% reserve wine and three years sur lattes. Disgorged in April 2016 with 6 g/l dosage. The nose is nice and clean with character of all three contributing grape varieties, plus a sensation of chalky minerality and a layer of autolysis. The mouth offers a notably creamy texture paired with vivid freshness, enjoyable fruit flavours and a hint of sweetness on the finish - which is our only objection, really. To conclude, a very good and sympathetic basic grower champagne that benefits from an excellent vintage. While not too young to try now, it should integrate the dosage better with a year or two in the cellar.

Caviste provning CAV0058 (Vinkällaren Grappe): 20% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier.

The Non Vintage bottle I tasted was based on the 2009 vintage and is made of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with a dosage of 8 grams and disgorged in 2013. It has a clean bouquet with some apples. On the palate tart apples as well, just a touch of minerals and some sweetness. Ok basic bubble.

Sort of straddles the more geeky and the more widely pleasurable. I'd like to try this when the base is a better vintage and look forward to trying other bottles from this house.

Really liked its strong lemon and apple notes, intense perlage and mineral subtone. Very vivid and festive. Absolutely worth its price.

Helhetsintryck - bra.

Clean, tight nose with pear, hard bread, lemon juice and flint smoke.
Young again on the palate with good acid and structure. Some bread notes in the background. Needs a few more years in the bottle.
