Really rich. I think this is a drink or hold wine. Mostly in the drinking camp. Super full and rich again. Pretty fruit, noticeable oak. Appealing to those who really like a heavier style Champs. Great with protein. Not a cocktail champagne at all.

Incredibly expressive nose of brioche and soft cheese curd. There is also a great acidity on the palate with young fruit that lets you know this is still rather young. Something that would be welcome in anyones cellar, this is delicious now but has the potential to be a "wow" wine with some yeas of bottle age. Excited to revisit in a few years time but will need to snatch a few up to hold onto first.

Wonderful. Everything I love in a champagne and more. Fully enveloping and deep character, brioche, tropical fruits and more. Utterly delicious. Unfortunately (and surprisingly) not quite as good on the second day which baffled me. Maybe also not the highest in acidity but still feels like its only going to get better. 94+
Golden yellow with delicate bubble in the glass. This Champagne carries its vintage really well. Rich brioche and burned nuts in the nose with delicate citrus tones. The aftertaste is long and balanced. A really nice tribute to an outstanding vintage.

2nd bottle from a 6 pack. Consumed at the end of a fantastic week. Love the richness and complexity of the wines from this House. This wine shows nice, autolytic notes on the nose and palate, with bright citrus, chalky minerality, and ginger. Bright acidity, long finish, just gorgeous. Drink through 2030+.

Quite leesy on the nose but less like brioche and more of a cheese curd aroma. On the palate there is some really vibrant acidity with lean fruit and mild to moderate oak influence. Medium- body. This champagne combines a leesy nose with a lot of freshness on the palate, which is my preferred style in champagne. Palate is a bit one dimensional still, this will take some time for the complexity to develop. Will be killer in 5-10 years.

Fizz tasting (Clara's Barn): (Tasted Blind): Mid-straw to yellow, with fine bubbles. Pleasant autolytic notes of brioche and warmed croissant, savoury and intriguing. Fairly complex, the palate reflects the nose with good intense notes of brioche, some depth and a long length. I enjoyed its tightly knit feel, the vibrant, integrated acidity that balanced a touch of dosage and a panoply of yeast lees. Champagne for sure! 60 months on lees. 60 PN & 40 CY, 8g/L RS. M

It's been a year since I've tried one these and I was hoping for positive development. Sadly this bottle did not meet expectations. It was rather simple and fruity, lacking both acidity and the interest/depth to satisfy the gray matter. Really did not work for the moment, sharing a glass with a fellow wine geek. The leftovers did not improve over several days. I'm now thoroughly confused regarding this wine's development and potential.

Beautiful medium gold appearence that reflects the age and time on the lees (7 years on the lees per the back label).
Pronounced aromas of baked apple, poached pear and some honey and brioche. Although pronounced the the nose still appears to be evolving and has maintained its freshness.
Medium bodied with excellent flavor concentration. This wine really shines on the plate! the finish is long and mouth watering.

Youthful nose with predominately citrus, some spice notes as well. Significantly opened over night. Expressive and succulent the next day, richer and more complete than the 2008 side by side. Good mid palate volume. I would cellar this for another 5 years. Will be very good for the price bracket.
Lobster rolls with Adam & Jason (West Seattle, WA, USA): Mmmm, great nose, "salted peanuts" to quote Jason, some mature aromas but also lots of verve. Very creamy mousse, so fine. This drinks so well with so much energy yet is extremely approachable.

Charles Heidsieck winemaker Dinner (12 cuvees) (Kong Hans): One of my favourite standard cuvees is usually Charles Heidsieck's brut Reserve. It contains so much reserve wine that it in general appears both more mature and more complex than other standard cuvees. During this tasting I had 12 different cuvees. Sad to say, but none of them impressed me. One cuvee scored 93, the rest between 88-92.
This wine: Better on the nose than on the palate. No further notes taken

60% pinot noir / 40% chardonnay. Superb but still quite young, with proper cellaring will age well over the next 20+ years so drink or hold but leaning strongly on the hold - see this eventually as a 95+ point wine. Highly recommend and despite the price point this is so good as to still be quite a reasonable QPR wine at the average CT cost. Enjoyed in Helsinki at restaurant OLO as a dessert pairing with their higher end tasting and wine pairing menu. Full bodied, overall slightly sweeter then expected, pale yellow with a slight greenish hue, well balanced with very small tightly clustered bubbles and a beautiful lengthy aftertaste. Nose warm and tropical with lees and brioche up front and nectarine ana a hint of honey developing on the finish. Flavor profile drier then nose suggests with yeast, brioche bread, almonds and rose petals up front with a fruitier and spicier finish of orange, apricot, white peach and kitchen spices. Completely agree with the note below about the salinity - through out there is a touch of sea mist or ocean air with a clear saline note present.

Left in the freezer overnight, but once in awhile you get lucky. The seal here was very slightly breached which relieved some pressure and prevented the bottle from exploding. Consistent with previous experiences, this is rich and tasty, easy to drink, but not exactly inspiring or interesting - at least at this early stage.

Very tasty, but also showing a strong toasty producer signature that comes across as a bit confected/manufactured. It was still very toasty on day 2, again confected and just not as interesting as my last bottle a few weeks ago. Out of curiosity I left a full glass out overnight, covered, to see what the base material here was made of. 12 hours later drunk as a still wine this is impressively rich and full-bodied - almost unctuous - with a strong yeasty umami character. It leans toward but doesn't get into cheese-y territory. I think I'll like this more in a few years.

Christmas BYO; 12/28/2021-12/29/2021 (Home): 60/40 Blend with most Pinot Noir. Straw yellow. Mature scent. Appears as somewhat perfumed. Flowers, dried meat, spice, and with hints of flint and toast. On the palate the wine gives a mature and harmonious impression. Hot spices, nuts and vanillacream filled baked goods. More dampened on acid than the first three. There was consensus around the table that this was a 15-20 year old vintage - which it was not.

Light gold color. Tasting pour x 2. Everything seems to be in its place, just in that pretty coiled stage. There's some toast, excellent power and energy, fine mousse, pear, chalk, brioche and sea air. Feels like about 93 now, but I suspect there's upside here.

This is super classy. A fine nose of yellow fruits, cinnamon and aniseed spice, brioche and chalk. The palate is a vinous pillow of fluffiness. Flavours are intense yet calm and understated. It has lovely balance and each sip unlocks flavours that are engaging. It has the structure to age but boy is it tasty now.

This has an interesting nose of assorted pome fruits, mostly fresh ripe apple with subtle medlar and quince nuances. The palate is tasty with sunny yellow fruits, finishing with more of that intense pome action, almost reminds me of the gritty flavors you get when chewing a medlar. Surprisingly linear flavors continue through to the finish, with really nice acidity throughout. The dosage is already well integrated. It feels a little closed in and weighed down by its CO2 today. The last glasses were delightful a couple of days later. Overall this bottle gave more pleasure than a couple of experiences earlier this year.

(Disgorged in 2019, 60% Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Ludes, Verzy and Versenay and 40% Chardonnay from Oger, Cramant, Avize and Vertus, dosage 8 gr/l) Light yellow colour with an almost greenish hue leaving a stream of bubbles in the glass. Youthful nose showing citrus flowers, chalk and fruitful yellow apples. Opens up with very pleasant notes of butterscotch and hazelnuts. Refreshing palate with a yellow apples acidity and a lovely creaminess on the mid before a structured finish takes over showing plums peels acidity. This vintage is all about elegance and finesse and this is really showing in this delicious bottle tonight! (Best 2022-2042)

Diam Mytik cork. Promising. An unusually dry, almost lean style for this house but with really nice complex, developed notes and minerality. I think this will be quite good but needs time to unwind. On day 2 this is creamier, with sweeter yellow fruit and a long finish. Yum.

Another brilliant vintage of Heidsieck is out there to be drunk and hopefully stored. Meaning that this is in it for the long run, and will probably gain high returns for those who’s patient. Great flow of autolysis starts it off - reductive chalk, toast and biscuit. Gooseberry, lemon zest, rich and traditional with an undertone of mushroom and wet forest. Great substance to the palate, apples and bread enters the field and plays along with aggressive creamy mousse, freshness and balanced ripeness.

Meget bra mineralitet. Sitter lenge. Nok en superb Vintage fra Charles Heidsieck. 93p+ med mer å hente ut.

(Disgorged in 2019, 60% Pinot Noir from Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Ludes, Verzy and Versenay and 40% Chardonnay from Oger, Cramant, Avize and Vertus, dosage 8 gr/l)
Light yellow colour with an almost greenish hue leaving a stream of bubbles in the glass.

Ren, vakker rik frukt og nydelig røykaktig mineralitet.
Som alltid strålende mousse.
Skikkelig kraft i anslaget, stor konsentrasjon og pirrende friskhet.
Flott dybde.
Meget bra mineralitet.
Sitter lenge.
Nok en superb Vintage fra Charles Heidsieck.
93p+ med mer å hente ut.
