Showed beautifully last night. Evolved over the course of the evening, showing a complete and well-integrated wine. There were little hints of mineral and fruit here and there but after several hours open this was showing lush brioche cake with sugar along with concentrated white flower aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle. Just a joy to drink and in perfect condition. There were times I would have been okay with a touch more acidity but to drink an aged CC of this quality there's not much room to nitpick

Tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth apple, toffee, and pear with a hint of oxidation.
In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with excellent acidity and great length. It was overall nicely balanced.
This bottle was a bit funky at first but improved substantially with air. I hope the oxidative note is not representative of other bottles. I don't recall running into that before.

Ripe and rich with pineapple, tropical fruit, dried extract, cake and caramel. It initially shows the big and oily CC character yet the acidity blossoms with time in the glass. Classic CC that is drinking very well now.

Nose was opulent with ripe orchard, creme brulees, dried extracts and tropical fruit. Ripe and powerful on the palate with lots of acidity and round fruit. Still surprisingly young and vibrant, which will require time to develop secondary note. Lots of life left for bottles in pristine condition. 92++

Starts off a little muted and sleepy. It wakes up after 30 minutes and really gets going. The ripe fruit is balanced by good acidity and the fine aged notes. It's too bad they don't make them like this anymore.

PnP beautiful yellow fruited nose to start followed by a palate with layers of ripe yellow fruits, creme brûlée, caramel. After 30 minutes in the glass the nose showed sherried notes while the palate picked up that green apple steeliness that this wine often displays. Fully integrated and balanced with more than enough minerality to engage the palate. Nice texture and finish, too bad the nose became so over the hill. This was an odd bottle, based on the palate it is 93 based on the nose, an over the hill 88.

Drank alongside the 89. This was decidedly more rich and honeyed than the 89. This also could age effortlessly for a decade but it was such a contrast between the two wines. This also showed some honey and botrytis. As the night wore on, it shared more characteristics with the 92 Raveneau Clos than it did with the 89 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne.

Kelly’s 61st - Champ, Monfortino, Burgundy and a ringer ('14 Summum) (The Grill Room at the Rosewood DC): Beautiful intense bright yellow color which is very promising. Exquisite fully mature Burgundy nose that we all love, decadent yellow fruit, lemon curd, yellow peach, light caramel, lanoline, limestone and a hint of creme brulee. Gorgeous fully integrated palate, ripe orchard fruit and crème brulee, slightly lacking acidity which is typical of the 92, good mineral presence and a lovely long delicious yellow fruit driven finish. With a half hour of air, the nose becomes very mineral a la wet stone. The nose reminds Eric, Ravneau and I agree wholeheartedly. The palate however remains reach and ever so slightly flat. The nose constantly changes back and forth from Chablis like mineral to decadent yellow fruit. However, the palate remains constant. Slightly lacking acidity keeps the wine from flirting with perfection.

I have been very lucky having purchased two separate lots of this wine, every one of them so far have been pristine. Unheard of in today's white burgundy. The wine was crystalline. Rich yet restrained. Loads of mineral front to back supported by perfectly ripe fruit. After 3 hours the wine was not going to back down rather it evolved greater complexity and weight. A wine like this is the perfect tee shot that brings you back after 100 hooks and shanks.

The nose was fresh with white peach and preserved lemon fruits. There’s a dollop of butter and a light toastiness to the wine. In the mouth it is full and rich and it still has the vineyards tremendous posture. There’s a torrent of minerals rolling around the mouth after the wine is swallowed.

Corton-Charlemagne & Corton Dinner (Imperial Treasure Shanghai, Ngee Ann City, Singapore): An ageless beauty – this was a superb example of how well great white Burgundy can keep in the bottle. It had a beautiful nose, with a bit of cream, a little mushroomy earthiness, a lovely blush of yellow fruit, and then a nice streak of minerality, all edged with in a subtly toasty, nutty, caramelly note. Lovely stuff. The palate had a beautiful, ringing clarity to it, with crystal pure, but still subtle tones of white peach and apple flesh laced with lovely clean lines of stony mineral. There was girth, there some power, both speaking of the terroir and the vintage, but this was ever so clean and focused and elegant, I would even say restrained – just beautiful. At the finish, a little stream of almost Chablisienne minerality and a blush of lovely warm spice cut through some of the sweet fruit as the wine trailed away in a beautifully long tail. This was a wine of great finesse. On one hand, it seemed to be drinking at a wonderful peak, but on the other, it also seemed really ageless, feeling like it could probably just float along like that forever. Served blind, no one could tell this was 10 to 20 years older than the other wines in its flight. Truly excellent.

A (Mostly) Burgundy Dinner after HDH Burgundy Auction (Naha - Chicago IL): Fill level ~ 3 cm. Intriguing aromatic start with fresh apple and some baking spice, also slightly floral. Reasonably fresh apple flavors, but not quite the same density and power as some great bottles of this wine I've enjoyed in the past few years, although those had better fill levels. Stayed at the same quality level over several hours.

In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with great balance and length. There was no sense of the typical weighty '92 vintage. This refined and well balanced wine was built for the long-term, and amazingly, still seems like it needed a bit more time.
If you open it now give it at least 4 hours of full-on air. However, it appears to be capable of 10+ years in the cellar and may well pick up a point or two with time.

Tasted blind, this wine had a light yellow center with clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose of green apple, lemon, & white stone was different in a good way. It almost came across like a high end Sancerre.
There was no 1992 heaviness here. While it was rich its acidic spine made it seem racy. It had nice balance and good length. This appears just a bit young and I would argue for a few more years in the bottle. My score may move up a point or 2 at that time. It certainly will last at least a decade.

Absolutely right in the zone right now. Opens with some aromas of honeysuckle, candied pear and preserved lemon. Breathes to show just a hint of white mushroom and toast development. It is full, rich and generous in the mouth without being overblown. The acidity is relatively soft but there’s a strong suggestion of something geological underpinning the sweet orchard fruits. It has great length and drive. The bottle was finished very quickly and the last glass was incredible, I seriously considered opening another bottle but it was a school night.

Grand Blanc at Aquarelle French Restaurant (Austin, Texas): From a Chablis to a CC, what a transition! But this, like the Chablis, came together with food. Initially austere and a little young (it was in magnum), it had good acidity and minerality and was slightly imbalanced for awhile. As it developed in the glass, it withdrew its sharp edges, gained some spice and butter notes, and began pulling much flavor, especially of minerals and honey. It matched up great with a salmon tartare crostini. The magnum needed more time.

Drunk at Texture with the lobster and scallop courses- wine was a yellow gold, honey candied nose very clean, in the mouth was medium weight very creamy buttery candy honey. in a very nice place. it grew in the glass and the last sip was better than the first. it didnt have much acidity to it but i enjoyed the wine very much

LIGHT COLD NOSE, HONEYED WAXY NOSE. A BIT SWEETER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AND NOT ALOT OF ACIDITY. MED LENGTH.

Straw color, showing some wood on the nose. Pleasant wine, with nice balance and acid backing it up. With some air it filled out a bit and the finish improved, but I think this is a very good wine that should be drunk up now. A-

Very full and rich but almost completely lacking in acid. To my palate this is woefully out of balance and I couldn't drink more than a single glass.

Golden straw coloured. Butter, sesame, toast and honey aromas on the nose. Rich and creamy mouthfeel, with enough acid to keep the palate from being flabby. Very good length and texture. Drink now and over the next couple of years.

very bright green gold colour, nose enticing, nutty steely restrained power, no overipeness from vintage, on palate high class fruit still very firm, herbs, mineral, copersistent fruit. High class CC just hitting its stride.

Very nice, well developed nose and extraordinarily long finish. Nice balance with good acidity. At its peak now for my taste. Best white wine of last 6 months. Did not hold up well in refrigerator overnight.
