The same bottle I had last year. Creamy in texture with vivid freshness. Although it shows opulent ripeness and expansive aromas that show its richness, it is supported by well-structured acidity. Excellent cuvee.

7/23 disgorgement. Light yellow-gold color with a persistent column of bubbles. Light to medium intensity nose of lemon stainless steel cleaner and a little autolysis. No questioning the extra brut designation, this is quite dry and helped tremendously by the accompaniment of some grub. Never going go be a blockbuster, but I bet this has a long road ahead to cruise on. I see it being richer and rounder in a couple years. 4+10+15+8= 87

Bordeaux night: Better bottle than the last time I had this, a return to form for this perennial favourite. Rich green apple fruit but with superb tension. As usual, a popular champagne with civilians.

I usually love this champagne, and love this producer. But I should never have opened it after Bollinger La Grand Annee. It was anticlimactic. The third and last of my current lot.

OG Lunch - Holiday Party (Lonny's Place, Mpls): Pale gold color. Small glass. Surprisingly it's been a year since having this last at the annual NYD Chamapagne fest. Always good these are crowd pleasers with their orchard fruits and clean, sleek style.

Unmistakably Chardonnay with chalky, tensile green apple fruit, but made in a fruit-forward and pleasurable way. Similar to my previous impressions, this would be my house champagne if I had one.

Delightful tiny bubbles. Great crisp and fresh mouthfeel. The effervescence in the glass continued throughout the duration of the meal. One of the best champagnes I've had in a long time.

Light gold color. Apple, yeast, pie crust, quince, spice on the nose. On the palate very refined, chalk, lemon, green apple, yeast, a little almond on the finish. Nice as always, 91+pts.

I loved this right from the start. On the nose the wine is mildly present with a slight green apple and very light citrus aromatic. In mouth the wine excels with a body which simply evaporates in mouth. This is a lightness I often find with light to medium bodied sparklers.
This is certainly a Brut and has the structure of a finer champagne than would be revealed by the price.

With some age on it. 2015 dis. Better than my 2nd of 3 bottles from this batch. This one held up great with air at a wedding. Big hit with the civilians. I do think I prefer this bottling a tad younger though.

Big believer in starting all meals with bubbles and this was quite lovely for that. It drinks incredibly well for the price point. Easy and interesting and a nice way to start (and end) a meal.

This is a delicious bottle of bubbly. Middle of the road in style, but with plenty of stuffing and complexity. No indication of the vintages on the bottle, but this was purchased in late 2019.

L533 - I think this lot is moving over the hill now. Mousse is getting soft and the fruit ripened as well. turning into a still wine, still of good quality nevertheless. time for restocking now

I tend to prefer Blanc de Noir but this Blanc gave me all the structure, flavor, and depth I enjoy in Pinot Noir. Super fine bubbles that dissipate not too quickly, giving room to a nice structure driven by acidity. Truly nice.

L533. This particular bottle felt a bit fatigued. Mousse was less intense and the acidic cut was a bit disappointing. Soft very ripe lemon, juicy honey melon and a nutty impression in the finish. (which was still pleasant pretty long).. Maybe this single bottle was effected, also looked like the cork was shrunk..

delightful! Lots of green apple, lemons and some tropical fruits on the mildly bready nose. Medium bodied and fleshy, slightly ripe fruits o the palate with good acid balance. Fine mousse on the expressive finish. Charming, as well as a super value. In a good drinking window, probably will hold another year or two.

Effortlessly drinkable Champagne, that shows citrus and apple fruit, and solid, if not starring role level acidity. It’s a friendly puppy Champagne at this stage, jumping up and licking your face. Probably a little higher in dosage than some would prefer (there’s apparently another cuvée with slightly lower dosage), but my wife and I both loved drinking this with our gougeres and a movie. I would happily drink lots more, especially given the favorable pricing in the overheated wine market.

L533. I read in a post below that's around 5 years of aging. That can be right, some development is noticeable.
Very fine dense mouse that coats the mouth. sappy pears, ripe apples, a nutty note and a mineral impression on the finish. I can find myself in the notion of pastry cream / donut glazing but without being overly sweet.
This is my first bottle from MH and for 25 euros a true banger!
Similar impressions to before. Crowd pleaser type of champagne where it has a little of everything - bold fruit and sweetness, creaminess and acidity to make a very pleasant drink. Suffered a little having tasted the La Parcelle a few days before though, agree with the previous comments now that this is rather simple and lacking in character. Still, no doubt that this remains one of the best values in champagne though.

Light gold color. Drank a couple glasses over an hour plus. L533. This had about 5 years of cellar time. Always a crowd pleaser, we had this with my family here while Scott was in town. This was very fresh, pear, sweet pastry cream, tart apple, sleek minerality, very elegant; beautifully proportioned and balanced.
Lovely sparkling - both with and without food. It was a crowd pleaser, right dosage, creaminess, and acidity to appeal to broad range of palates. Was gone too soon. I think I prefer this to their rose.

Added a bottle of this to my last Envoyer order to try, based on the general praise here, combined with its reasonable price. Opened it Friday and tasted over two days; no evident flaw.
After high hopes, this bottle was a disappointing surprise. The wine's utter, flavorless, depthless, simple bone-dryness seems to be its only interesting characteristic. I like this quality, generally, when it's paired with some other characteristics, but, by itself, meh. In a still wine, I get more from a good muscadet. In a sparkling wine, I'd prefer a decent Loire or Jura Cremant - Tissot's at least offers spectacular Chardonnay fruit on the second and third days. On the Habert's second day, it was mostly gassed out (unusual, in my experience, for a decent Champagne), and the underlying wine was an insipid nothingburger; I couldn't bring myself to finish the bottle. By contrast, a Champagne like Lallier non-dose is complex and extremely interesting even after the fizz is gone.
I hate to be harsh, but Champagne begs for critical review - more so than other wines. Those who like Hebrart won't be deterred by my opinion, and those who haven't tried it will have the benefit of an alternative point of view.
This is a recently updated label design with non gloss white paper stock and updated art. Looks more expensive & prestigious but still a bargain as usual. One of the consistently great buys in champagne. BdB to boot! Had been paying $30. This one cost a whopping $35 on the net :) Love having btls requiring zero hesitation to open from a pocket book standpoint. This is one of those! Crisp, fresh, alive with a balanced & tasty mix of citrus, stone fruit, mineral and toast. 91+ Degorged March 2020 L538

DG 01/2020 First of all I have to say that we like Hebrart's higher level cuvées, we find them really interesting, but this particular bottle was quite disappointing. It was very soapy, it smelled almost like laundry detergent; aromas of overripe grapes but with a very high acidity: lots of lemons, limes, green apples and apple juice, melon, ... it was like a cheap white wine. It wasn't pleasant at all and it made us think that the base of the blending might be 2017, a very complicated year in Champagne with tons of rotten grapes. Not very accomplished at all, almost disgusting. NR

Excellent NV with 1-1.5 year cellar age. Barbell wine: heavy buttery Chardonnay base with light fizzy top. Excellent to celebrate a Biden-Harris win today.
Tart apples on the front end, with a yeasty and minerally medium length finish. Good balance of acidity and sugar. This punches well above its price point. Very nice.

Yeasty and doughy. Lots of weight with bug lush golden apples. For a blanc de blanc this is a big wine. The minerality is still present but hidden behind the autolytic character

As always, a really nice bottle. It always seems a little different - tonight struck me as a little sweeter than in the past, but nothing to complain about. Very nice structure and energy, good clean fruit and a snappy finish. Could wish for a little more precision, but at this price it's hardly a fault.

Disgorged 7/12/2010. Absolutely stunning, still fresh and young with a lively mousse, clear and pure fruit, citrus and toast. Soft around the edges, though still with great cut. A wonderful treat.
Tasty BdB 1er Cru. I buy this by the case at $35/btl. Bright lemon and apple notes, with some slight hints of warm bread, pastries, and ginger. Delicious finish, med in length, nice finesse to the bubbles.

Good typicity for BdB with apples and lemon. Can see why others are happy with the QPR on this wine since usually it's hard to get this quality in the bead/finish at this price point. Have really enjoyed their 2012 special club bottles in the past too which I remember having more salinity/mineral notes to it.

Light gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Pear, apple, dough, apple skin, spices. The palate has a striking balance of chalky minerality and green orchard fruit, creamy mousse, very tart and filled with dry extract. Excellent as usual.
Aromas of lime, toast, bread dough and mine. Flavors of lime, bread dough, toast and slate. Ends with a great finish 15-20 seconds with toast and mineral notes. A step up from the Veuve.

Great showing. High toned and tact but not too acidic or screechy. This has some odd and unique flavors - lots of yellow fruit, but not in a typical cote de blanc way. Kind of a prickly herbal vibe. Fun to taste something that’s clearly Chardonnay driven but unique in its flavors.

Opened to enjoy as an aperitif with friends on a beautiful evening. Lemon paste, hazelnuts, salinity, chalk, and bread crust. On the palate, zippy and bright, with citrus zest and minerality, and just a drizzle of honeyed richness to take the edge off. Gorgeous BdB, refreshing and uber-drinkable, enjoy through 2025+. Breaking into my 2nd full case of this delicious wine. Something has been weird about all these bottles...I open it, the first glass or 2 is great, and then the contents seems to "evaporate" from the bottle over the next hour. Seriously tasty wine, this has become my go-to house Champagne. I purchase a case a year.
Lemon, lemon peel, and some brioche on the nose. Persistently and copiously bubbly. Lemon-rubbed apple and grapefruit sprinkled with sugar on the palate. To my taste this is borderline sweet. The label does not specify but I'd guess this is either much more dosage than I prefer or it was made from some very ripe Chardonnay. I know the importer preaches about dosage, and he sure has a lot more tasting experience than I do, but this only confirms my preference for less dosage than some people do.

Oregon... (Spoon and Stable): Consistent with previous notes. Good Champagne flavor of yeast and oak. As a BdB, it is on the lighter energy-driven style, while still possessing a depth to it that I don't usually find in an NV BdB.

Very impressive quality, and just delicious with the right amount of sweetness. This goes down quickly, it's eminently quaffable and delicious, but it's by no means simple. Went fabulously well with diverse appetizers: smoked swordfish, frog legs, and a potato croquette with chorizo. Couldn't ask for more from a NV BdB, superb.

Frenchy's Grower Bubbly Event In the OC (Todd Frenchy's Place): Poured blind. This bottle was voted the WOTN by the tasting group, although I didn't have it composed that high (my WOTN was the 2012 Marie-Courtin Effloresence). Base of minerality, berry, big energy, rocky with apple sauce and lime. Overall, this showed well and I would like to try something leaner in the Hebrart range, to see how those show. Does the winery make such a thing?
A beautiful bottle of BdB 1er Cru. PnP and consumed over 2 days. Shows a nice nose of apparent fresh bread crust, alongside bright lemon, lime and some red apple. A long and bright finish, with a nice acid bite and refreshing finish. Drink this pretty Champagne now through 2021+.

Fresh clean Chardonnay nose with florals, chalk, and subtle autolytic notes on the nose. On the palate it’s fresh and focused mid weighted at most with a lightness and grace I really like. Bright and clean Chardonnay fruit some brioche, florals, marzipan, and chalk on the palate. It’s clean and focused, detailed and having a sense of depth without weight. some honeyed notes. It has excellent lift and well done dosage. Finishes clean and more-ish. Outstanding and a terrific value to boot

Dinner and a Great Mix of Wines at Lonny's (Lonny's Place, Mpls): This started a little slowly for me tonight, but gradually took on more energy and nuance. Always a bottle I really enjoy and at such a great QPR, this one was maybe a half step behind typical. Still very bright, pear, wet stones, dough, fairly intense. 91 to 91+pts.
Fresh apple, stonefruit, baking spices and a hint of toast on the nose. Bone dry with a sturdy, persistent mousse and lively, mouth-watering acidity. Youthful and bright, screams for seafood, or just food in general. Not much in the way of complexity but the drinkability is very good. While I find this to be an absolutely great QPR (I paid 21.50 €) and I am not usually one to care about points I find the CT average of 90.9 to be surprisingly high. Then again we all have our own ideas about the 100-point system...

Light shiny gold with fine bead. The nose brings a complex mix of white and yellow flowers, ginger, honey and chalk plus a baked pie crust and the palate spreads stone fruits and crisp pear like a high end champagne which for this price is high qpr. Wow, is this stuff good. First experience with this producer and am very impressed. Bread dough, bitter almond, yellow apple, all framed by a citrus peel that adds solid cut and definition to a medium weight finish. We served this with a light chill, it showed a great vibrance. Ooh Laa Laa. Purchased a full case at $33/btl. This is the first bottle. No disgorgement date is listed on the label, unfortunately. Very light and delicate white fruits on the nose, a bit of chalk, slight hint of bread. The palate is a bit more rich and inviting, with deep BdB flavors of lemon and apple, and a vein of slate right down the middle. The perfectly measured dosage is apparent on the long and delicious finish. This Champagne is so easy to drink. It is elegant and rich, quite deftly put together. Drink now through 2020+.

Big Time Burgundy (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 20 minutes. I will echo my last note on this. I love it, this is a seamless, fresh, bright Champagne, with nice pear and apple fruit, great texture and balance. As Chablis28 notes, it may be one of the top QPR's out there.
Am on the fence about what I like and don't like about this wine. I prefer blanc de blancs when it is crisp, austere with prominent minerality. Blind I would have thought this was a blend with a significant pinot meunier component, to me very unlike what I expected. Surprising depth, rounded ripe white fruits and prominent vanilla. After it was open about an hour and warmed a few degrees, it seemed to become more angular, which brought the tasting needle back toward chardonnay. Fortunately. I have half a bottle left and am interested to see what it is like this evening. I think this wine just needs to be opened and warmed to the high 40s and it shows a depth of flavor uncommon at this price point. SECOND NIGHT: No longer on the fence - this is a really good wine. What I mistook for blended flavors is just depth and finesse. Really good stuff. Must buy more.

This was sandwiched between NV's of Billecart-Salmon and Deutz and it made them both seem sweetish and unremarkable by comparison. Bone dry but not austere, refreshingly acidic and quite minerally with hints of autolysis. Not quite as steely or spry as the usual Côte des Blancs stuff we drink at home but considering the low price point this is a really good example of its category. Very pure with character. This occasion quite clearly demonstrated what good grower Champagne offers versus big house NV's.

1.5 years since my last bottle, and boy, is this great right now. Best of the 3 bottles I had and in line with what I drank at a tasting. This was strong with notes of red apple and pears. The wine had good acidity, a light note of minerality and there was a good bead. The finish was of decent length. Good job on this Blanc de Blanc NV.

disgorged 4 March 2013, very bright aromatics at first, with lots of citrus zest and essential oils, at first the wine is dominated by delightfully light and zesty acid and a firm and even carbonation, delightful from first sip, but wine really develops as it opens with a light touch of seashell and mineral on the palate, but the real development is on the nose which blossoms toward incredible complexity and the mouthfeel which becomes addictive, didn't pair all that well with a spicy sausage stew, did better with a heavily dressed salad, but I'm thinking something with egg/cream/mushroom omelette would work awesome with this wine

Clear and white fruit, tart green apple. The nose is so clean and fresh, it's like those clean-smelling sheets one tosses into the dryer with the laundry. Lots of acidity, tart grapefruit, grapefruit pith. Compact and focused rather than broad, even though this has been in the cellar for years. With air, this becomes a clear and focused beam, with lime, grapefruit, clear and white fruit, and lots of acidity. Flatter on the second night. Love the understated style here. Note: tasted along with Aubry Brut on a tasting event. Initially the wine showed more acidity than expected, but after half an hour it improved considerably. People agreed that it was more complex than Aubry, with a bigger profile of aromas and flavours, and in the end more enjoyable.

Strong stuff. Initial aromas of fresh-cut lime, candied lemon, cigarettes and Red Vines, with an anise top note. Powerful in the mouth, too, with dense (almost Chenin-like) floral presence, but broodingly austere, with acid galore. After half an hour, smells more like "Chardonnay"... scents of salty sea breeze and a firm, potent, powdery concentrate quality I associate with ripe grapes in a lean year. (I first noticed this in the 1998 Arlot "Clos des Forets St. Georges" shortly after release, and here too it is reminiscent of a red wine.) At this point the mouth impression has become sweeter, smoother and creamier - but I'd either give this a couple of years, or use it to wash down a couple dozen oysters.

Light gold, with a muted nose of some brioche and citrus. Smooth, elegant on the entry, though the mousse could be a bit more refined. Some light toast, hazelnut, orange peel, green apple on the palate, with a moderate and fairly clean finish. Not bad, but somewhat nondescript. A good typical middle-of-the-road BdB which is good but not exceptional value at sub-$30. Paled in comparison to the Billiot Reserve that preceded it, and IMO, not nearly as good as Hebrart's Selection or Rose either.

Disgorged July 3, 2009. A good bottle of wine , this. Sweet citrus, great texture, a bit of cream. Just fabulous with a triple cream cheese and a soft goat's milk cheese. Drunk from Riedel Vinum Red Burgundy/Pinot Noir glasses.

NOSE: light, crispy, powdery apple. Fairly expressive.
BODY: frothy head when poured, which quickly dissipates, leaving a loose but lively bead. Bright, light yellow color.
TASTE: dry, but not austere; crisp apple; not oxidative; pretty amazing to get a BdB of this quality at only $35.

Very fine dense mouse that coats the mouth. sappy pears, ripe apples, a nutty note and a mineral impression on the finish. I can find myself in the notion of pastry cream / donut glazing but without being overly sweet.

First of all I have to say that we like Hebrart's higher level cuvées, we find them really interesting, but this particular bottle was quite disappointing.

Base of minerality, berry, big energy, rocky with apple sauce and lime. Overall, this showed well and I would like to try something leaner in the Hebrart range, to see how those show.

BYOB Diner @ Restaurant De Eendracht (Rotterdam, Netherlands): Less substantial although more elegant –but that is Jean-Paul’s style– yet no lack of flavour intensity here either, imparted by Oiry & Chouilly grapes and a dash of Mareuil-sûr-Aÿ for structure. The third disgorgement of this bottling that I have tasted, this wine continues to impress and has excellent value. ..... TN Mike de Lange

Brought to Apiary for dinner with Jorge and Micaela. Great showing, crisp and clear fruit with a good yeasty palate. Precise and linear on the palate, great cut. Lovely start to the evening.

Began with a sherry note, as if it was slightly oxidized, but this blew off soon. Nose is faint. Palate shows clear and white fruit, meringue, light yeast and a bit of salinity on the finish. This is a tapered, restrained, balanced champagne. Very easy to drink and soon the bottle is gone.

Nice acidity on the finish. Lemony zing at the tip. A bit off balance.

KW Tasting Group New Years Eve Dinner (Greg's House): Nose of granny smith apple, bread dough, lemon rind. On the palate, the nose is mirrored with nice acidity and a rich mouthfeel. Some bitterness noted on the reasonable length finish. Overall, decent, but lacks some complexity. I would like to revisit this with some further cellar time. 89+

White gold in colour. Nice freshness. Medium bodied. Smooth, citrusy, light fresh baked bread odours.
Creamy, toast, citrus and green apple. Light nuttiness. Decent complexity here. Nice longish clean finish.

Great purity of fruit and cut and a great start to celebrating Thanksgiving. Green apple, citrusy notes and chalk in a light frame. Excellent on day 2 as well. Lovely.

Terrific Blanc de Blancs. Very light and airy, like whipped meringue. Good purity. Very light and white/clear fruited, like the Hebrart Brut that we've been opening all year as one of our house Champagnes, but this is airier. Thanksgiving at our house, 2011.

Note: tasted along with Aubry Brut on a tasting event.
Initially the wine showed more acidity than expected, but after half an hour it improved considerably. People agreed that it was more complex than Aubry, with a bigger profile of aromas and flavours, and in the end more enjoyable.

Excellent champagne in overall. The nose has yeastiness and green apple, and the taste follows this. Very enjoyable, should get somehow more this.

4 Champagnes plus: White gold in color. The nose shows some seltzer. Full bodied. Excellent texture. Nice acidity. Complex and much better on the palate than the nose. Long finish. This is an outstanding value at around $30! It has loads of life left to develop but is delicious now.
