Drank this a few times over the past 3 years. The first time being 01/19/20. On that date, we drank it next to the 03. The 03 held up slightly better. Then an now, you can observe slight oxidation and I was kind of surprised by this. This is well made and concentrated flavor from Howell mtn, but I was hoping for slightly more depth. Well integrated but firm tanins

From a jeriboam which was part of a large private purchase about 2 years ago. Hard to isolate price, but probably around $250. The size of the price, that 3 bottles in that purchase--older white burgundies--were oxidized, and the last TN made me nervous about the bottle, but it turned out just fine. As a concession to age, I did this as a PnP. Nice nose of dark berries, dark flowers, leather and some earth. On the palate, consistent notes, dominated by blueberries. Mild to moderate tannins and acidity, both very well integrated; no heat. Dark hued, medium bodied, strong legs. Cork came out cleanly. While I tried to keep the wine corked to preserve the vibrancy of the fruit, others kept it out, so by the time we finished the wine a few hours later, the fruit was fading. I don't know stylistically what La Jota's wines are like generally, what this wine was like when it was younger or even what it's drinking like in a standard format, but yesterday this wine was lovely, lilting, balanced, an almost feminine embodiment of a Napa cab with a nod to Bordeaux. We were eating salmon, chicken and grilled vegetables, not ideal accompaniments, but the wine was gentle enough to not overpower the food. The wine is definitely not done, but the gradual fade of the fruit over a few hours indicates it is in drink soon/now mode and should not be decanted. 94 on opening, 90-91 upon finishing. 92+

Drinking well. Great nose. Velvety feel on the palate and tanins have resolved themselves. Lots of dark fruits.
