Showed well pnp and just kept improving over following seven hours before it was gone. Youthfull, but elegant with lovely blackcurrants and well-behaved tannins. Paired with deer tenderloin, which is a special treat for me. Try again in a couple of years time.

A private dinner with friends (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Youthful but much more approachable than Léoville-Barton, classical Saint-Julien profile, fresh but ripe cassis fruit, marvellous energy, perfect weight, satiny tannins, smoky wood, long and convincing finish. A winner.

Drunk with Mike Neumeier and Dave McKean at Cork and Craft in Rancho Bernardo. Everyone loved this. Mike said it was the best wine he had ever tasted.

Popped and poured and again stellar. I'll stand by previous rating. This is juicy with sweet, supple, round fruit. A sexy fleshpot of a wine.
