Very elegant, so light on it's feet. En danseuse, effortless elegance with depth, intensity and sweet Grenache behind. Femine wine with incredible fresh 30 years on. Tasted vis-avis the Fonsalette from the same year, also extremely good, but a different animal alltogether. #PB#LunchwithoutCP

Light red, almost translucent color. Lovely aromatics of kirsch, flowers, white pepper. Moves with ease, so light and elegant palate feel. The fruit is soft and relaxed and there’s sous bois notes on the back. Niels called this Burgundian and I very much agree. It was difficult to keep our hands from this and this went down much faster than the 1994 Fonsalette. Beautiful wine. Lunch at home with Niels, missing CP.

From a vintage without much of a reputation, this is quite a surprise. The wine offers ample levels of sweet, ripe, kirsch, dried flowers, mint, and spice. On the palate, the wine is fresh, refined, medium-bodied, and loaded with sweet, bright, kirsch notes. Drink from 2024-2030.

La Tablee: Rayas Dinner with Gregory Castells & Martine Saunier (La Mercerie): Tougher year and here there was a bit of brett which I'm not totally against but it's harder in the Rayas where the appealing comes from this clean fresh elegant style. It took away a bit. Not throwing it out of my glass, but not as good as the '95.
