Much better than expected given the low expectations for this vintage... Shows up nicely at this early stage: Already well balanced and in harmony. Was the right (early) moment to open the first out of six bottles to determine whether 2013 was as bad as generally mentioned (it is not). Only future will show whether still missing complexity will come up in 10 years or so to justify the price. 93+

Medium ruby colored. Black currant, blackberries, leather, some wet forest floor and smoky wood in the nose and on the palate. Some green and medicine like notes in the background. Medium (+) bodied with a quite high medium (+) acidity. Tannins are a bit chewy and feel a little unripe. Not super complex, but not simple either. Good structure and depth. Great overall balance. The finish is savory and medium long. Not a typical Mouton in my opinion, I wouldn’t have guessed this one right if I tasted it blind. It’s very approachable for such a young first growth. There’s no need to hurry but it doesn’t feel like it’s made for the long haul either, so my suggestion would be to drink it from now on until 2032. A very nice wine but not really worth the money unless you are really in love with Mouton and want to try every vintage. (IG)

Deep purple in colour. Medium+ nose intensity with nose of mineral, black fruits, black cherry, vanilla, slight mint. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Medium+ bodied and long finish. Already drinking well despite youthful. Approachable. It will probably peak at next 5-7 years.

Nice nose and you can feel the pedigree but that's about it... no structure, not tension, no length.
