Birthday wine. Decanted three hours. Elegant and complex. Had tapped it for one taste last Sept. and it was still super fresh. Classic Margaux with five grapes in the cepage. Something like a 70/20/5/3/2 assemblage. Very nice.

Lifted, aromatic nose featuring orange peel, damson, eucalyptus, clove and spice. Fairly full bodied but not ‘heavy’. Textured with lots of currant and dark cherry. Coffee and spice. Very complex. Plush and generous but with evolving herb and mint notes that keep you coming back. Retains freshness. Margaux meets Montebello ? Mouton meets Dominus ? Could it be just a fraction less alcoholic ? Or would it be less enveloping and seductive if it was….either way it’s a delicious glass of wine even now and the structure is beautifully covered.

Great potential, but not nearly ready. Dark ruby/purple, reticent nose, tightly wound structure overpowering the fruit despite its' ample body. Firm tannins and tight finish. This needs 5+ years to show its best.

Dinner with Friends at Platea. This is a very fragrant Margaux with a nose of flowers, blue fruits and delicate crème de cassis. Body is soft with soft tannins and a fresh acidity that makes you come back for more. The finish is medium in length with flowers.

Wild nose. Extremely pungent, rich black/purple fruits on, cloves, slight green note.
Tasted as it smelled with a green finish. Would be easy to blind as cabernet based.
