A good cork and a beautiful classic Rioja in its prime drinking window. top shoulder fill. Hue shows the age of wine but perfectly acceptable. classic Rioja profile of red fruit and cedar, followed by spices. finely textured, balanced palate with soft tannins, sufficient acidity and a long clean finish. Will still hold.

Almost a decade later, the cork was totally soaked. The Durand was very necessary to remove it. The color is garnet and not as much bricking as I remember, however. The nose is completely tertiary, with some funk that dissipated as time went by. Notes are similar as last time. Iron, minerals and blood. The fruit has decreased but there is still some left. The finish is longer than I expected. This is passed its prime now but it is still enjoyable and was WOTN. Drink up now.

Started out a bit too sweet and floral, bit of funk. After 5 minutes or so with the bottle opened, retreated to a decent wine, with the acidity, flavor and right sweetness to expect of a Riscal.
Color on this one a lovely brick red; nose delicious. Not bad!

First of 11 bottles from auction. Crumbly cork that had clearly affected the wine. Loss of freshness and aromatics. Hopefully, the next one will be better...

Beautiful bottle. Opened a couple of hours before lunch. Very nice nose, complex, spices, ashes and tobacco, red and black currants. the palate is fresh, tanins are super polished, absolutely seamless. good length. Will probably not gain anything from cellaring. Drink within the next 2 years.
