As per previous note. This time drank against 09 Musar. The latter was just slightly more to my taste. The Kanonkop is more fruit forward and less subtle. Delicious nonetheless. Some folks are saying drink up… I would say this has at last 3-5 years of peak life left in it. Enjoy!

Drank on Christmas Eve together with La Lagune 2009 with venison pie. Not quite up there with the claret but still very impressive, slightly bigger/chewier , probably at/near its peak. Very good considering half the price of the La Lagune.

At a perfect spot right now. I would not keep this anymore. Fruit is soon going down fast. Fantastic at the moment. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), mineral, vanilla, lead pencil, cedar, black pepper and alcohol/hot. It tastes like black currant (cassis), mineral, cedar, vanilla, lead pencil and black pepper. The body is medium/full. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

DWS in La Boheme, (By RVe): Beautiful and luxurious bouquet with dark berries, vanilla, cigar, tobacco and beautifully dosed oak. On the palate dark and red berries, chocolate, a touch of pleasant sweetness and beautiful acidity. Overall a delicious and tempting wine in its maturity stage. No real hurry though.

Just after uncorking it was in a perfect spot. But it is time to drink this.
