  • I have found the Gitton wines to be difficult to place, without the distinctive Sauvignon Blanc Loire nose or palate but this was truer to what I regard as the norm. Still very restrained, it had a lovely depth and concentration and a touch of sweetness of fruit that made it particularly good with a plate of asparagus, Jersey Royals, radishes and herby hollandaise. Delicious.

  • This is a fantastic, well-made, and extremely well-balanced Sauv Blanc. P&P'd with cheese and munchies before dinner. Greenish-yellow color. Nose initially brings a strong herbaceous note, which mellows into dried herbs, fungus, and marijuana, set along side some pink grapefruit and nectorines. The palate is very full for this varietal, bringing notes of sour lemons, green apples, pears, melons, and more citrus fruit. The finish is smooth and sweet with lingering lemon-drop candy notes. Overall, the distinguishing characteristic of this wine is it's citrusy yet savory liveliness, which unlocks all of the herbal and citrus notes. Wonderfully done!
