  The same source as the uninspiring bottle from two years ago. Very youthful purple color which is promising. Medium expressive nose displaying plum, blueberry, coffee, ash, a hint of cedar and earth. Good concentration, a bit chunky and rustic palate, still a hint of tannins and an earthy simple short finish. My good friend Bernard Burtschy told me that there were several different bottlings. This is my birthyear wine and I had a couple great examples in the past. After four bad experiences, I am done!

  All the 67's opened together and 30 minutes ahead and lasted for 3+ hrs.
  
  Trotanoy (1 bottle; 93 pts) - best showing and liked by all, with most structure and complexity; earthy and a hint of mint
  Palmer (DQ) - oxidized
  L'Evangile (2 bottles; 90-91 pts) - lighter version the Trotanoy
  Gruaud Larose (1 magnum) (91 pts) - like it better than the L'Evangile as it was more complex
  Cheval Blanc (4 bottles) (91-94 pts) - likely bottle variations even though all is top shoulder; one of the 4 showing great complexity, while the other ones were lighter version
  Vieux Chateau Certan (3 magnums) (91-92 pts) - all is bottom neck; better than the L'Evangile and can be as good as the Cheval Blanc

  Another uninspiring bottle. Such a youthful color yet completely void of fruit and very little nose. Not corked and no obvious flaw. Another disappointing bottle. Apparently a number of different bottling. I had a couple good bottles but at this point, I have to say avoid.
