  Owing to this one coming from a very hot year I would say that it should be drunk over the next 5-8 years, which is my estimate for how long it will still give pleasure.

  drunk alongside the 2003 Leoville Poyferre and definitely the poorer and more mature of the two - it is surprisingly lightweight and almost "thin" - really a bit a disappointing for a VCC and I feel it should be drunk soon

  Some ripe berries and roasted notes on the nose. Quite closed in and tightly wound at this point but I don’t get much underneath. Some in the room thought this just needs time but with all the other great vintages of VCC in the aughts, why bother with this one?
