  • Sadly oxidized - was really looking forward to this wine.

  • Magnum. Honeywax notes with good acidity and somewhat flat palate. Quite oily. 93

  • Kleur: Medium goudgeel. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100

Colour: Medium golden yellow. Aroma / bouquet: Although white Graves and Burgundy can sometimes come close to each other, this wine shows itself in everything as a refined blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillion. Beautiful bouquet with accents of orange peel, grapefruit and pear. In addition, wax / candle wax. Taste / Aftertaste: Pleasant, fresh and sour start, retronasal impressions of orange peels, honey, wax and fennel. Thick-juicy wine, refined and complex. General / potential: Memorable, chic Pessac-Léognan. Nice to drink now but with a very long future ahead of it. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / Bouquet: 13 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / Potential: 9 = 95/100

  • Tasted oxidised - over the hill or flawed

  • A powerful and deep wine I wonder if tasting this by itself would have served it better than the complex and flavorful dishes that went with it, I was left with the impression that it has incredible complexity though delineating was difficult, lots of waxiness from the oak and some Semillon I’m assuming, candy cane was coming out along with elevated alcohol and ripeness, the citrus was less grapefruit and more mandarin orange, a wild wine that I feel privileged to taste and probably won’t get to again.
