  Great showing. decanted only a half hour before drinking with dinner and the wine was singing. Sweet ripe fruit shot through with dried roses, menthol and tar, woodsy aromas, and all of this follows through on the palate, which has a firm and grounding mineral base note. The fruit still shines, but there are secondary and tertiary characteristics - forest floor and mushrooms and something almost like iodine, eucalyptus. Balanced, complex, delicious wine. And as I understand it, this is a bad vintage for Barolo. Go figure.
