  • Last bottle from the cellar, low-shoulder fill with a dusky crimson color. You wouldn't think it has any right to be alive at all under the circumstances but it's actually in superb condition and still has fruit. Deep, dark, blue fruit aromas combine with an old cedary bottle bouquet. The palate is plump and grippy and also not totally past its fruit - on body alone it could pass for something 50 years younger. The entry is framed by old wood then on the back end it fans out into those paydirt flavors that don't come until the wine is a true antique, an array of savory and earthy stuff evoking chanterelle broth, tree bark, and salted caramel.

  • Drank at Berns in Tampa,FL
Nose is so powerful….in great shape! Not going anywhere….testamant to Berns Cellar. Sweet cassis, earth, bitter chocolate, cherry, cedar, ash, pipe tobacco, high toned flowers.
Palate is so alive….lithe and vibrant…..cedar, cassis, shaved chocolate, tobacco, flowers, spice, cherry, cassis and minerals.
    Finish is long….wow
