double decanted - little rim development, dark quite dense but glossy ruby; black plum and spice, some earth notes, simple and straightforward; fullish, ok length but little fruit, coarse tannic structure all too apparent, massive over-extraction based on this bottle, though other notes on this site suggest this bottle an outlier, though there was no obvious taint, no future, drink. At best G+ (15.5).........I originally bought this en primeur but was able to sell it back to the merchant having picked up that extraction might be an issue but have stuck by more recent vintages which I've enjoyed.

decanted for a couple of hours which gave a different profile from the bottle tasted a few years ago. bright nose, rich and elegant. palate is medium+, smooth tanins, rich and long. there is enough freshness to give a very good balance to the wine.

Called '00 St Emilion blind (modern producer). This was good, but still showed a rather heavy hand with the extraction with mild port notes mixed in on the nose. The palate was well poised however, if still showing some mild tannins. Not in my wheelhouse for style but enjoyed more than I thought I would.

Beautiful, and still well within its drinking window

It's a little thin from the bottle I opened last year. Still very good.
