A matter of taste 2024 (Kongresshalle, Zürich): *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory *** Glass: Stölzle Universal Tasted 2020, 2019, 2016 and 2009. The latest vintages a clearly showing the same structure and terroir, but are very muted and closed. Hard to describe and not very approachable at the moment for me.

Ink, plum, dark fruits. Quite similar to my memory of the Virginie de Valandraud. Smooth and opulent. Very extracted, but with enough acidity and power.
Best quality out of the 2006 and 1996, but under the 2018 in terms of complexity etc.

Really drinkable. Consumed with Thanksgiving dinner in a large boisterous group. Opinions varied on this depending on the view of the drinker with respect to tannins. If you like them and find they enhance the complexity, you enjoyed this wine. If the sharpness of tannins distract you, you took a sip, shrieked "tannins!" and poured what was in your glass into the glass of someone in the first group.

Super smooth and good flavor. Classic St Emilion Bordeaux.

Dense dark fruit, plum, oak, cassis, tobacco, high acidity, and dense structure. Keep this for another 5 years.
