Having tasted the all red fruited 2018 a while ago, I was expecting this to be a lighter version, but the fruit profile is quite different: black fruited nose, slight oaky tones. Good concentration of black fruit flavors, and a long and very chalky finish where the tannins kind of sneaked back on me. Active limestone here, lots of tension. The silkiness of the mid palate though makes it a good candidate for early drinking, and it will improve in a couple of years. Excellent.

very clean red berries on the nose, precise. polished, fine ripe tannin, ripe berries again decent balance, good finish. some bottle age might help this gain some complexity

2018 Domaine Bruno Clair Barrel Tasting with Philippe Brun (Marsannay): A monopole. Limestone soil, noted Philippe. Bright, expressive, dark fruited perfumes, with minerals and earth. Andrew noted a touch of citrus. In the mouth, real weight and power. A tensile mineral core. Precise with relatively racy acidity. Very good. "Structure with finesse", said Philippe.

A November Bourgogne Evening at Hamburg (Nobbi Müller Burgunder& Süßweine, Hamburg): More fine tannin than the "Dominode", richness of extract, finesse rules this bottle, great cherry fruit, long and promising, very delicious now that young, but will show its whole refinement in about 5-10 years, **(**), 92(++?) potential

Bruno Clair Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 3, Visit 3) (Marsannay): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Too reductive today to assess.
