(Not a) birthday dinner (Hinsdale, IL): Original release. Leaner and less opulent than the better 1994 alongside, this showed some fruit that was starting to brown, and a relatively angular texture between the weight and the acidity. Not as well integrated, but still plenty dense, oily, and concentrated, the way old white Burgundy really ought to be.

Such a privilege. Consumed in Burgundy direct from the Domaine, this bottle was vibrant and bright, but also deep, layered, and subtly honeyed. Not a blockbuster but impeccably balanced and beautiful.

Decent library release but lacked the intensity and purity you'd perhaps expect from this vintage. (RE 09322)

Still so fresh and vibrant, rich and round fruit, nice acidity.

Drinking perfectly. A touch of botrytis adds a touch of exoticism to a beautiful forest floor nose. No hurry
