Decanted and served immediately. Brilliant gold, light and clear. Immediate petroleum nose, followed eventually by citrus and floral notes, followed by a rich spiciness, pronounced mineral flavors and a very firm acid backbone. Big, viscous mouth feel, medium-to-full body but with a LOT of structure and definition. Great balance and tremendous length, and still drinking like a lively young wine! Delicious.

(Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet) Versus the Bâtard the colour is a little deeper - more golden too. The nose is higher toned and a little less burly, riper though still with plenty of oak. Despite this wine being decanted an hour earlier it's another hour in the glass before the nose reaches its peak. Overall this is a fantastic wine that just doesn't quite show the precision of the Bâtard but anyway very fine.

Probably a good wine but paled tasting next to Chevalier and Batard. Slightly funky, prefer something with more fruits. Mineral flavours.

Deep palate but showing signs of oxidation.

This is in a nice place right now, it still has vibrancy and is showing lovely minerality... it just is not a profound wine.
