  • Leflaive sesame sensation with matchstick, lemon, and smoke. Reductive with subtle power. It gained weight in the glass with verve and class. 94+

  • [Magnum] Clean. Stunning magnum, massive, buttery, totally forward and opulent. An enormous powerhouse of a white Burgundy. Classic Leflaive, everything you hope for, flint and reduction, plenty of mineral and acid behind the round gold fruit. Only improving the longer it spends in the decanter. Half early on, and half after dinner which was definitely bigger and more expressive. Thrilling and captivating when these are clean.

  • Singing bottle, brilliant example. Loads of golden fruit, impressively powerful, but with distinctly soft / weightless edges and textures. Long mouth coating finish. Mouthfeel and elegance of a high breed top site. 94 - 95. Great place for drinking. I wish they all aged this way and were this clean.

  • Lemon, ginger, almond, flint, mineral, salt, fresh tart fruit extract in a seamless palate. A finish that lasts until the morning after, leaving me in a serene afterglow. If all bottles showed like this, the current prevailing prices won’t bother me so much. When a bottle it hits like this, I start to believe in divinity and intelligent creation. Unfortunately, the bottle variation is crazy and there is no divinity … from dust to dust. But we are all stardust and sometimes a bottle is able to show its magic. Just awe struck.

  • The wine is in fine shape but there is a ton of matchstick reduction which didn't blow off. I usually like this note in Leflaive wines but it was too strong here and seemed to also keep the wine from showing much complexity. Not as good as the last bottle for sure.
