  Jason's Birthday Wine Night 2015 (Dakota Residence): Unique dried leafy tobacco nose, ash, graphite, pencil shavings, complex, tertiary nose, like literally licking a pencil lead, herbaceous, elegant, Bordeaux nose, fading red fruits, seems cab franc heavy, clean tasting, medium finish, chewing tobacco on the palate, evidence of oak. Some green capsicum. Not a very ripe year. Quite aged. Overall ranked 6th of 6 wines brought this evening - unfortunately the "unloved" bottle by most in this flight. Drink up, as the fruits are fading / drying up. I contributed this.

  Jason's Birthday Wine Night 2015 (Dakota): Tasted blind. Slow-oxed in bottle about 1 hour before drinking.
  Appearance is clear, deep ruby colour with garnet bricking at the rim. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of tea leaves, cedar, blackcurrant leaf, tobacco. Developed.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, very well integrated medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of tea leaves, tobacco, cigar, blackcurrant leaf, fading blackberries. Medium+ finish.
  Good quality. Clearly an aged Bordeaux. Fruit fading/almost faded. Drink up already.

  Roasted nuts, scorched earth, red fruits, red cherries, cranberries, hint of vanilla, very well integrated french oak, tobacco, pure and crisp rounded and silky mouthfeel, medium bodied, clean and long finish, hint of capsicum. This is a very elegant and graceful wine. Still holding up well.
