Same btl as rocknroller. Served on the occasion of Kevin's (rocknroller) 60th celebrated at Minikahda Club with 12 of us enjoying Vincent's outstanding food & Nico's depth hand with the wines we brought along. 110pt occasion! This shared the highly anticipated 1961 2 btl flt which also included an other worldly '61 Figeac and my first Figeac ever. Sadly, this btl had completely expired and all we could do is dream about "what might have been". Dang it! This would have been a rock star in its best days, I'm sure.

It's the Big LX Birthday Bash: No Holds Barred (Minikahda Club, Mpls): Murky dark burgundy red color with 5mm clear edge. Splash decanted and followed a glass over an hour. Well, unfortunately this did not turn out as hoped for. Vegetal nose, black currants, dried cherry pasate, cereal, medium bodied, tannins hanging on, a little volatile. It was an interesting study and fun to try; drinkable but just not a great bottle. I suspect there may have been some storage issues here. Score reserved.

(Da Domenico) An impeccably refined wine, leather, honey and hint of tomato leaf and ash. While enjoying it, one is watching the plains after a fox hunt; briskness from morning air and strong country walk. Viewing over plains just thoroughly pounded by a fox hunt; the horse and fox hair are very noticeable. Hints of honey from the meadows. Satisfaction after a glorious victory.
Chateau Cheval Blanc vs Chateau Angelus (Rare-Bordeaux-Weine, Wachtberg (Germany)): Was from an négociant bottling (A. de Luze & Fils). Deep and opulent nose. Dark overripe berries, raisins, dried tomatoes and some interesting stable notes on the palate. Still very alive with a complex structure. Bottle and cork were in a perfect condition.
