PnP. Moderate petrol aromas with apples, minerals and herbs. Lovely apples on palate with petrol, herbs, minerals. Mildly viscous body with excellent acids. A bit of honeysuckle on the back end. Nice concentration and complexity. Nicely done.

Mid gold with flecks of green. Perfectly mature Riesling nose. Lemon, kumquat honey and beeswax on the nose. Well rounded palate with a hint of sweetness but no botrytis. Very good length with lots of mushrooms and forest floor evident.
Still brilliant on day 2. Minerality and tertiary flavours more to the fore but still refreshing yellow fruits.
Will keep going for quite a few more years but absolutely à point today.

From 375mL. There are some darkened citrus aromatics over a backdrop of classic, heady mineral notes, but also a detracting cider flavor that never quite rounded out the way that I've sometimes seen it. Some attractive elements for sure, and everything does manage to work together pretty well, but a bit old for my tastes.

HDH auction at Spiaggia; 2/15/2018-2/17/2018 (Chicago, IL): From half bottle. Classic Hune aromas of minerals, but a good counterbalancing hit of smoke. The palate shows brilliant minerality, with a waxy and heaver character, but there's so much acidity here that this still works. This bottle strikes me as a riper and more generous expression of the site, but it's just outstanding all the same.

Very fun to try. Ripe, quite sweet, a bit waxy. Loads of that oily gold fruit. Served with a fabulous cheese cart. Perfect.
