  • Deep yellow with a shade of gold. Slight mustiness at first, then classic tea and dried peach with high toned petrol after about an hour. Medium weight, not particularly dense or powerful for this cuvée. Barely off dry stone fruit and guava with excellent but not shrill acidity and a light kiss of soil. Probably at peak now and an excellent if understated version of Clos Ste. Hune.

  • Still painfully young. Intense acidity, some lemon juice, dusty, light-bodied but very young. I would let this rest for another 10 years before approaching another bottle

  • A transformative wine. Mineral, rocks on aroma but unlike last bottle from 10 years ago, the flavor profile developed a rounder, fuller fruit forwardness to it. It isn't soft but much softer than my first bottle drank in 2010. Very different at 20 years of age. One that belongs on the bucket list.

  • Medium yellow. Classic black tea aromas. Middle weight but essentially delicate. Beautifully focused, dry, citrus, and loads of soil on the finish. Tertiary petrol emerges with air. Unexpectedly superb bottle given middling experience with this in the past.

And even better the next night-mouthwatering lemon acidity, guava, and again a finish that is drenched with soil. I don't think I gave this vintage proper credit when I tasted it earlier in its life. Pretty classic now with real staying power.
