  • Fruitless and tannic. No hints of Bordeaux, maybe too early to drink but I doubt it gets any better.

  • I didn’t enjoy it on day 1, but I didn’t decant, just pnp. I was about to write it off. Glad I saved half for the second day. Much, much better on day 2 - it’s a different wine. Plum, fig, graphite on the nose, some cocoa and some leather. Tannins have softened but still nicely present. Dark cherries, pomegranate, some wood, baked plum. Plenty of acidity. Downright tasty with dark chocolate. Great legs.

  • Nice natural cork, wine was a bit underwhelming. Nose was overpoured by the alcohol. Has some soft tannins that hold for a long dry finish. Borderline wondering if this is corked, get some damp earthy flavour mixed with mellow fruit, a bit of old cigar.

  • Uncork the bottle 1 hour in advance. This wine is delicious, easy to drink. If the price could be lowered, it would be had a higher score.

  • Overall: my experience is substantially different from many of the other reviews. This wine jumped out of the glass with bold aromas, seems to be of good quality, and although not extraordinarily complex certainly is not a bad deal, although I wouldn’t say this is a value buy, either. Might buy again at the $30 Costco price. I don’t think this will age beyond the 2020s and may just start to taste thin and dried out by 2030.

    Appearance: dark purple, nearly opaque

Nose: green apple, light floral notes, some plum, maybe a bit of herbs

Palate: green apple acid comes through on the palate; high perceived acidity with medium-high, somewhat green tannins. Tannins are not bitter. Red fruit is subtle. Dark fruit isn’t really present. Some spice notes present but they’re very hidden.

Finish: long, drying, with mouthwatering acidity.
