Dark berries, earth, leather, slight balsamic vinegar & vanilla. Medium body, liquid velvet, smooth mature tannins and refreshing acidity balance the rich dark fruits.

Tuscany (Le Petit Sommelier Restaurant): This would be an excellent, old-fashioned Brunello, especially given the vintage, if VA wasn't so evident. Otherwise, a medium-bodied wine, with nice cherry fruit, spice and herbs, firm tannins, high acidity and a long aftertaste.

Intense nose of perfumy cherry fruit, meat, liquorice, leather and a herbaceous overtone. Chocolaty oak. Full-bodied with rather intense fruit, balancing acidity and astringent tannins that show some greenness. Oak notes and herbaceousness. Tight finish. Popped and poured. Proved to be a nice effort - esp. considering the vintage. Showed also limited potential, since the greenness wasn't that pronounced.

Popped and poured. Quite good, but slightly green and tight. Would have needed a bit of time to open up.
