  • Aromas of orchard fruit, citrus, toasted oak and sesame (interesting that I picked it up again) with some baking spice and minerality. Not quite as oaky as the last time I had this -- not sure if this is because it has integrated better in the last year and half or because of bottle variation. Still, a little too much oak on the palate. While rich and full-bodied, one could hope for a little more acidity to keep it more focused. Good length. Tasting alongside a Pernot Folatieres and Pucelles, this seemed a little inferior despite its hallowed origins.

  • Tasting and Sale at Mood Indigo (Jalan Kilang Barat, Singapore): Excellent. It was slightly oxidative nose, with browning apples at the fore that got me very worried. Past that, there were aromas of dried lemons, dried flowers and savoury white meat and earth notes. All in all a little troubling. Thank goodness the palate was still okay though, because this was a very accomplished wine indeed. It showed lovely red apples, just with a slightly browning hint at the edges, and then lemons, spice and mineral laced with some honeyed, caramel notes. Lots of depth and grip, with lots of substance on the midpalate. The finish still had a lick of oak and a long pull of earth, stone and spice. Good weight, decent balance, lots of complexity. On the cusp of oxidation maybe, but we caught it at a good time. A lovely wine.

  • aromas of toasted oak, sesame, lemon, and mushroom (almost truffle-like) earthiness. full-bodied and rich with plenty of acidity lending itself to ripe apples and oak on the palate. good length, lingering with minerality and oak. overall a good wine, but seeing as how i've already said it 3 times, a little too much oak for this taster. since it hasn't really integrated in 10 years, i doubt that the oak ever really will.

  • Excellent premier cru and very Puligny; steely, perfumed in that Shalimar way. Not a hint of prem-ox despite the blue-grey streak on the cork. Not especially long in finish, but "long" in elegance that only seems to happen in this tiny bit of dirt.
