  • Deep purple in colour. Aromas of dark berries, cloves, earth, spice and minerals. Medium to full bodied - somewhat of a surprise actually. Blackberry, black olive, deli meats, and minerals. Fine, savoury tannins. Very nice drinking now but got a few years in it yet. Definitely more of a food wine.

  • {screwcap, 14%} Classic hunter shiraz in every way. Garnet. Developing nose of spice, pepper, some mulberry fruit, all overlaid with a dusty earthiness. Tannins are medium-strength, powder-fine; the general texture is very savoury and dry. The wine is medium-bodied, oak is a seasoning rather than a flavour; it's obviously meant to be drunk with food, not as a cocktail. Decent coverage of the palate. It's a good solid wine, not especially flashy and maybe not all that exciting; as young vines from the Graveyard vineyard and declassified fruit it's never going to be top rank, but it's serviceable and authentic. Aging gracefully; should easily hold another 8-10 years depending on how much earth you want in your wine...

  • Described as "Baby Graveyard" (not quite sure if marketing has thought that one through), from young vines. Liquorice, pepper, cherry and kirsch. Savoury palate with tannins, acid and fruit in balance. Likely better with food.
