  • half-bottle, perfect level and tight elastic cork but a more advanced bottle as immediately obvious from the orange-gold colour, fine burnt butterscotch nose, complex, quite lovely classic aged Sauternes nose with distinct botrytis character, still clean and fine, smooth rich perfectly balanced palate with enough acid and botrytis “hardness” to keep it all very clean at the finish, great length and persistence, really improves with more air on opening and as it approaches room temperature, decant at least 3 hours in advance, not quite as good as the previous less advanced half-bottle, give it time in the decanter and glass, the last remnants were so much better

  • first of 24 half-bottle case bought en-primeur, because of the strange wooden case configuration half of the bottles were stored upright since purchase (the other half on their heads), this was one of the upright bottles so I was a little apprehensive, however no worries, level was excellent, lowermost neck, cork tight, no evidence of any drying out or air penetration, colour also fine, pale gold, decanted 2 + hours, nose reticent and needs some coaxing in the glass but then really fine, complex and classy, luscious, butterscotch, botrytis, palate has just lovely weight, flavour and balance, good oily viscosity, sweet but beautifully countered by acidity, great length and persistence, lasts for minutes, lovely wine at its peak

  • in peak condition. lovely botrytis aroma's (honey, beewax, tropical fruit, white flower) but a bit too heavy body of caramel. one of the lesser vintages I tasted from this domaine. still even in this lesser vintage, excellent value...

  • Drank at Sandy and Gary's, lighter in weight, but good botrytis notes in with the more citrusy tropical fruit. Good acid as well.
