Lovely aged champagne with gorgeous nose of brioche and hazelnut, and a touch of shiitake mushroom and truffle. Almost no bubbles, which was a shame. Became much sweeter with air. By chance the UK Roederer importer (Mark Bingley MW) was on a nearby table and popped over to try - seems this vintage was a standout for the wine and had ~65% pinot noir, explaining all the body. 96-97pts.

Good richness and freshness. Nut fruit, mushroom, herbs and baked apple. Good acid. Overshadowed by the more complex 43 Louis Roederer. 92+

99W/91R. Light orange shade. Mature, oxidative champagne, not much effervescence. Bit nutty with pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
