(Disgorged in 2007, 67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay) Golden yellow colour with a lovely maturing nose showing butter, vanilla and oak in a delicious way and opens up with roasted coffee notes and a pleasant nuttiness. Wow! Such intensity on the palate showing lemon citrus acidity with a very pleasant buttery note on the mid with a creaminess before the lengthy finish showing a candied lemon zesty touch and leaving a lovely minerals saltiness on the lips as well.. This is showing very well right now and is one of the better cuvées of the vintage right now! (Best 2022-2037)

2002 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Elystan Street, London): A divine start to a great evening - this was served non blind from magnum. This cuvee is an overperformer in my view out of magnum as I have still fond memories of a 1996 magnum I had ~6-7 years back, i.e. at around a similar age. This to me was a perfectly balanced champagne with very good depth that was very classic Roederer to me. I also have a nostalgia of that old label (which is when their Brut Premier was still a great NV but that is different point of discussion). To me a beautiful champagne that is drinking at its early phase of full maturity in magnum but will keep and will probably improve for the next 10 years.
Richard Juhlin Top 100 Day 2 @ Ecco Zürich; 2/25/2019-2/26/2019 (Ecco Restaurant Zurich): From Magnum, not blind As starter before the Richard Juhlin T op 100 Tasting Part very youthful, reductive, blindly I would guess DP, wet stones, goose berry, some herbals, at least ten more years, no oxidation signs, no roasted aromas, perfect bubbles. If you like it fresher than it is at his peak. I would give him at least 10 more years. 94

Out of Magnum: Simply stunning. So fresh and precise. Long life ahead out of perfect Magnums like the one I tasted. How good was it? To be honest...The DomP 2002 next to it had a really tough stance...
