Burgundy Dinner with Friends (My home - Chicago IL): Opened an hour before serving, then enjoyed over the next three hours. Plenty of red and black cherry, both fresh and maturing with Chinese five spice. Good+ weight and impeccable balance. Served alongside Gros Frère 2000 Grands-Echezeaux, I could never decide which I preferred.

Eu Ming's Birthday (Bee Heong Palace, Singapore): I really liked this. It had such a lovely nose of mushroom earth and fragrant wood spices floating around a sweet core of lifted red berry aromas. The palate was classic 2000, with silky, barely-there tannins and fine acidity framing pure, just ever so slightly chewy notes of red cherries and berries, all this speared with lovely Vosne spices. Really elegant, really pure, this was absolutely lovely. Maybe just lacking a touch of the conviction and depth that one would expect in a stronger vintage, but this was so charming and beautifully put together. It is in its drinking window, but I think it will continue to improve over the next few years. Super stuff.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Wow, super aroma also here, dark fruit mixed with red fruit, complex farmyard funk, precise, good acidity. The full package for a lighter vintage!

Dark fruits, some lactic, cherries, sous bois. Good structure and balance. A little 4-square however.
