Small glass, brief note. Same as it ever was. Thankfully, not once in a lifetime.

Small glass, brief note. From magnum. Great fruit but slightly stewy, in the manner I'd often think might be a ripe vintage wine that experiences some heat damage.

No reduction on nose, but very reductive flavors to start, which took 15-20 minutes to dissipate. Floral, great spice and ripe orchard fruit aromas. Same rich and ripe fruit is opulent like many 2005s, while showing plenty of structure to support that intensity. Tasted multiple times over 4+ hours, and this stayed just as great each time.

Small glass, brief note. There was an odd, chevre character here I couldn't understand or enjoy. Others at my table found the same strange note.

Small glass, brief note. Lots of rich apple, lots of yeast and toast. Nice, powerful, long in that bready, mature style.

Small glass, brief note. Black fruit, very ripe but on the correct side of borderline balance. Not really finessed, but certainly fun.

Small glass, brief note. Fun aromas of almost fully mature black fruit, some leather hints and lots of cooked mushroom. Similar flavors but seemingly less nuanaced and slightly more tired. 90 point nose, 85 point palate.

Started with lots of concentration but seemingly great reserve. Ripe apple, some peach and huge floral notes emerged with more air. Better and better over the course of 4 hours. Great now with upside.

Small glass, brief note. Very earthy, lots of barnyard alongside fully mature red fruit. Some dirt/ rot coming through on finish, which intensified with more time in glass. Best when 1st poured.

Small glass, brief note. Spice aromas with mature plum and floral hints. Slightly earthier flavors, slightly less exciting. Almost drying on finish. 94 point nose, 87 point palate.

Small glass, brief note. Aromas still showing fresh cherry along with earth, dried and toasted nuts. Similar flavors, but I found the firm tannic structure to dominate the balance for now. Very good concentration. I tasted this after perhaps 30 minutes in decancter, and would wonder if there was more integration and balance an hour+ later.

Small glass, brief note. Green apple aromas and flavors with lemon peel. Moderate intensity and length, excellent balance and minerality. Very good already.

Small glass, brief note. Powerful red cherry and berry aromas with great spice. While the flavor profile is similar, it is also a burly wine that is backward right now, and just teasing us with its potential. Based on tonight, I won't open any of my bottles until 2020 at the earliest, probably not until 2025. Certainly 94+ potential then.

Small glass, brief note. Fully mature fruit is flavorful and enjoy to enjoy now, with moderate length and nuance.

Small glass, brief note. Love the nose, it has everything. Seemed slightly simple on palate, but I think it backward and reserved, not really simple. Probably not a wine to hold for a decade from now, but give this air and enjoy over an evening by 2025.

Great, great fruit. But I you paid close attention, you could sense it was slightly corked. But still...amazingly tasty, perhaps at the 91 point level for a CORKED bottle!

small glass, brief note. Tart fruit, seemingly a little backward and we were wondering if possibly a little volatile (?). I don't recall ever having this wine before, so lacking a reference point, found it unusual and less enjoyable (87-88 points) than expected.

Small glass, brief note. Very enjoyable and oddly fresh, even if somewhat simple. Never would have thought it 45+ yo.

Small glass, brief note. Very elegant and nicely mature and well balanced. Certainly Bordeaux-like, but with less complexity or length than from a comparably good vintage.

Popped, decanted (cork problem) and poured. fully mature red fruit with lots of mushroom notes, as if slowly reduced over the course of hours. Subtle baking spice. wonderful elegance. No signs of decay, so really showing great for a wine at this age. Held wonderfully for approx 45 minutes in glass, at which point it started tasted slightly stewed, then declined slowly from there.

Stewed and clearly heat damaged.

Small glass, brief note. From magnum. Rich and lush orchard fruit everywhere with slight yeasty brioche notes in the house style. Very good concentration, richness and length. I like where this is right now.

Once again, one of the greatest young Burgs I've ever tasted. Incredible richness, depth and balance. How can this wine be this good this young? Thank you, Jon and Marlene!

Very forward red and black cherry with moderate spice. Nicely elegant and well balanced. Moderate concentration. Already in its peak drinking window.

Popped and poured. Stunning aromas with black and red berries, savory spice and floral hints. Palate is dense, dense, dense with great concentration. Hints of greatness to start, real pleasure coming through when finished one hour later. 96+ point potential here, but have patience.

Small glass, brief note. Bright and pure black and red cherry, modest spice, wonderful textures. Just entering its drinking window. Very nice.

Small glass, brief note. From 18L bottle. Lots of black/blue fruit with herbs de provence. Fruit is fresh and brash, more firm than I'd prefer, while nicely spicy. Hard to assess in context of a normal bottle, but I expect it is fun.

Small glass, brief note. Alluring red berry aromas with equally alluring spice. Never would have thought 1992. Flavors were good, but less exciting, less fresh, while still tasty. 95 point nose, 90 point palate.
Here is something I have never seen (or noticed) before. This bottle must have been intended for the German or Austrian markets and had "Trocken" printed in the front label's upper left corner.

What a treat. Rich, ripe and opulent aromas with great spice that is prototypically Vosne Grand Cru. Nicely fresh red cherry and berry aromas for 25 yo wine, then slightly more mature flavors with borderline jammy hints. Excellent concentration, just slightly less acid and brightness than I would prefer. 96+ point aromas, 91 point flavors.

Leaner styled Bâtard than typical with wonderful spice, fresh herbs and mint. Moderate concentration and length, with excellent mineral textures. Very good now through at least 2020, probably 2025.

Small glass, brief note. Slightly perfumed with fun red fruit, but there was some odd note, as if some fermentation took place in bottle. But that was faint, and this wine was fun.

Shockingly fresh and tasty. Apple aromas and flavors with moderate nuance, but amazingly fresh for its age in a challenging vintage. There's no upside from here, but a very enjoyable taste.
