Vertical. Walk around tasting. Much like the 2012, this comes across as nicely ripe with mineral sneaking through from the middle forward. Good weight, good now.
Walk around tasting. 12/10/09 vertical. Rich and power while finishing with Chablis brightness and textures. In its peak drinking window. I also enjoyed this more when younger.
Walk around tasting. 12/10/09 vertical. Rich and complex in every way. Yellow and green apple with spice hints and very bright energy. My favorite of the vertical.
Walk around tasting from magnums. 14/13/11 vertical. Rich and dense with lots of orchard fruit and a powerful, expanding finish. My favorite of the vertical.
Walk around tasting from magnums. 14/13/11 vertical. Good weight and length with lots of apple and while I like the effect of a little botrytis on white Burgundy, I fin it too pronounced here.
Walk around tasting from magnums. 14/13/11 vertical. Nicely bright, fruit is softer vs when younger, so still very classic but less perfectly balanced.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, 15/11/09 vertical from magnum. Big for the vintage with good density and balance, but just modest nuance. Drinking well now. My favorite of the vertical.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, 15/11/09 vertical from magnum. Also on the lush side, showing the vintage more than anything else. Good now, doubt there is further upside.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Walk around tasting. 11/10/07 vertical. More of everything with charming combination of orchard fruit with tropical hints coming across as ripe with tart hints. So much stuffing. As good today as when last tasted three years ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Walk around tasting. 11/10/07 vertical. Floral start with orchard and citrus fruit with old vine concentration coming through most clearly here. So much ere, this is an exciting wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 12/11/10 vertical. Rich and dense with broad array of stone and orchard fruit. Good+ depth. Enough acidity and minerality to keep this bright. At its peak.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 12/11/10 vertical. Rich aromas and flavors with apple and pear throughout supported by tropical hints. Layered complexity and textures with good weight, better depth. Certainly the best of the vertical.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 10/11/12 vertical. Rich and nicely concentrated with plenty of peach, apple and near sweet spice. Very tasty now, but better to enjoy near-term vs cellaring longer.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/10 vertical. On the ripe side for Corton-Charlemagne, but that's 2012 coming through. Good weight, perhaps borderline Grand Cru density, but mineral energy coming through on finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/10/09 vertical from magnums. Apple and peach with layers and subtle complexity. Very good density for 1er Cru without being a powerhouse. Also at its peak now, 92-93 points.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/10 vertical. Starts out very rich, then softens into a more classic Meursault with a linear finish and good weight. Very good now, but not quite living up to my (even greater) expectations form when tasted a few times a few years back.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/10 vertical. Bright lemon and lemon peel plus toasted hazelnut, with elegant textures and a long finish. At its peak, very good now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/10 vertical. Rich and layered, still nicely fresh and elegantly textured. Certainly the best of the vertical today, I'd drink these sooner rather than later to retain all its freshness.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/07/95 vertical, all from magnum. Rich and full bodied for the vintage, without the precision of the best examples of Meursault Perrières. Good weight and depth, good overall for near-term enjoyment.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/07/95 vertical, all from magnum. Both lean and rich lemon and lemon curd with engaging and bright textures. Very long finish. Still nicely fresh, in its peak drinking window, but certainly good to last longer. The highlight of the vertical.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/07/95 vertical, all from magnum. Big and rich without any of the clunky awkward character of many 1995s. Still nicely fresh, but how much of that is the large format? Still very good.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Nuits Villages
Walk around tasting. The only one vintage of the vertical I ended up tasting, this is bright for the vintage and elegant for its level. Probably a very good value wine worth seeking out.
Walk around tasting, in 09/05/99 vertical. This 2009 was form magnum. Ripe, large scaled black and red cherry. Brawny for Volnay, but this is a vintage that doesn't easily/ often show terroir...yet. Fun and tasty for now, certainly with plenty of upside.
Walk around tasting, in 09/05/99 vertical. Bottle had n't been open long and it came across as somewhat musty, so tough to asses or really enjoy. I meant to revisit, but ran out time.
Walk around tasting, in 09/05/99 vertical. Floral, rich and well spice with lots of complex nuance coming through in this small taste. Seemed slightly more Old School and backward than Nico's more recent vintage, but it worls wonderfully in this classic Volnay vintage. Certainly my favorite of the vertical today.
Walk around tasting, in 12/07/99 vertical. Dense mostly black fruit coming across as ripe but firmly backward. Easily enough here to reward patience as those tannins soften. I'd wait until at least 2024. My favorite of the vertical.
Walk around tasting, in 12/07/99 vertical. Big and good power with nicely fresh and ripe black cherry. Good balance and textures make this a fun wine right now. Best of the vertical for enjoyment today, but the 2012 will be a better wine in a few more years.
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Ripe red cherry and berry start-to-finish, but so bright, textured and long for the vintage. Classically and beautifully Volnay style with a long, complex finish. Very good now but still getting close to its peak drinking window, probably best 2022-2047.
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Lean red fruit start with spice and floral hints. Best on its expanding finish. In the early stages of its peak window.
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Clearly very ripe and rich, but also clearly maintaining the acidity to be bright and very fresh. Floral hints and lots of spice provide good support with complex hints in the near background. Also just barely entering its peak drinking window, this will have a great, long life.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Rich and lush stone fruit with intense, luxurious character with brightening acidity and minerality on long-ish finish. Great now, in its leak drinking window.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Perfumed with ripe stone fruit and very good density. Softer finish. Best to enjoy over the next 5 years while this remains this fresh. Somehow I haven't tasted this wine since barrel tasting in 2010!
Walk around tasting in 15/13/11 vertical. New label since 2014 (Clos de Haut Tesson). Rich and powerful with stone fruit and toasted hazelnut and soft textures with a long finish. Best now through 2027.
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Lean and tart with intriguing sweet hints. Very good length and brightness with so much energy on finish. Very good now through 2030. I'm finding Roulot really excelled in this vintage.
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. I really enjoyed this wine when young, but haven't tasted in 6 years, and today's bottle seemed musty and a little dirty, but not necessarily tired. Off bottle? It was close to the end of the tasting, so I did not have the opportunity to revisit from a different bottle.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 10/09/00 vertical. Lush and dense start, then very minerally and bright on long finish with subtle nuance and good power. Very fresh for the vintage.
Walk around tasting in 12/10/99 vertical. Ripe, dense and powerful mostly red cherry with faint earth hints. Good+ potential, just entering its peak drinking window.
Walk around tasting in 12/10/99 vertical. Very impressive density with red and black cherry alongside very bright textures. Consistent with prior times tasted, this is a great vintage for Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus.
Walk around tasting in 12/10/99 vertical. Ripe black and red cherry with some roasted meat hints and forest floor. Nicely mature, right in the middle of its drinking window. Better today than another bottle at the exact same tasting one year ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 10/07/05 vertical. Lighter style vs most vintages, with at least as much red cherry as black. Less meaty than typical, but lots of spice and bright fruit, ending with sneaky power. While not typical, an excellent vintage for this wine that is already drinking so well this young. I am surprised to see this is the first time I am tasting this wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 10/07/05 vertical. Ripe black and red cherry with earth and roasted meat hints. Very classic CSJ in its peak drinking window with good weight.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 10/07/05 vertical. Dense and very concentrated with fresh and powerful black cherry and berry with meaty, brooding character. Not quite perfectly balanced and not quite fully accessible, but this is getting close. You can see its potential on the (very) long finish that is nicely finessed. 92-93 point potential, starting in 2025 (maybe that's too optimistic).
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 13/12/11 vertical. Extroverted red and black cherry with powerful tannins that are already in balance with everything else. Very good length. A real success already in its drinking window.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 13/12/11 vertical. Red and black cherry comes across as more tart than ripe with more accessible aromas than flavors. Good depth. Best to enjoy over the next 5 years while it retains its current freshness.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 12/11/08 vertical. Ripe red fruit with baking spice, classically Vosne style with earth and evolved hints coming through on good finish. Entering its drinking window, very good now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 12/11/08 vertical. Red and black cherry, earth and savory spice with licorice. Good start but on the light side overall. This hasn't quite picked up the weight it typically does in most vintages.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/09/07 vertical, all from magnum. Perfumed start with red and black berries, slightly lean. Very long, powerful, balanced finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/09/07 vertical, all from magnum. Black, red and blue berries - ripe, complex while slightly restrained. Anise, allspice and fresh herbs complement the fruit , adding lots of complexity. Dense and nearly chewy throughout with a long finish. Great now with upside.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/10/09 vertical. Ripe red cherry with Asian five spice and good balance. Bright finish with good enough weight and length, but slightly less depth than I expected. Upside? 91-92 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/10/09 vertical. Bright red cherry and berry with glorious spice, and equally fantastic textures in every regard. Delicious now with upside, there is so much ere. One of the outstanding wines of the entire tasting. 94-95 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/10/09 vertical. Very ripe black and red cherry with baking spice and very impressive density. Very fun right now, but this needs time to shed more baby fat. 92-93+ point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 13/12/11 vertical, all from magnum. Lean and sweet red cherry with very bright, crunchy textures that are prototypically Chambolle.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 13/12/11 vertical, all from magnum. Lots of ripe red cherry with fully savory spice. Very powerful, yet wonderfully balanced from start-to-finish, getting bigger towards long finish. So good now, I expect this will put on more weight as it ages and be even better from 2027 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 13/12/11 vertical, all from magnum. Bright red cherry, on the lean side. Yet powerful and texturally engaging with a long finish. Getting close to its drinking window.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/08/06 vertical. Ripe red cherry and berry with licorice, allspice and clove. Ripeness well balanced with very bright textures, especially on long finish. Slightly brooding today in the middle, better 2024 forward, 93-94 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/08/06 vertical. Brawny black and red cherry to start, powerful and slightly brooding. Brighter and more elegant finish bodes well for its future. Good today, even if not quite perfectly harmonious, but I am optimistic for its future, 92-93 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/08/06 vertical. Slightly matured red cherry and berry with earth and savory spice. Everything combines with graceful textures to make a very nuanced, charming, and enticing wine in its drinking window. A good indication of where the 2012 and 2008 in this vertical will go.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/10/08 vertical. Black and red cherry with both lean and ripe elements alongside licorice, black pepper, and dark chocolate. Good weight, better balance. Good now through 2036.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/10/08 vertical. Another brilliant 2010 showing bright red and black cherry with anise, espresso and an engaging perfumed start. Near perfect balance with silky smooth textures. Great now with upside from here. A highlight of the entire tasting.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 11/10/08 vertical. Ripe, dense and very powerful black berries and cherries with sweet spice. There is still a little pronounced new oak, but otherwise this is a ripe beauty that still needs a little time to soften. Good now, better in another five years, and probably even better yet in ten.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 16/15/13 vertical. Perfumed and floral start with black and red cherry. Great nose, then big and powerful start with similar and rich fruit, just not quite as engaging as the wine’s nose. More texturally bright from middle forward with minerally textures that are brighter, but this needs a few years in the cellar to harmonize better. 90-91 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 16/15/13 vertical. Similar aromas and flavors to the 2016, just denser, richer and clearly riper. While I prefer the 2016 now, both will be better in another 5 or 10 years, and I do not know which will be superior. 90-91 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in brilliant 09/02/00 vertical. Ripe red berry and cherry starts out lush and picks up energy and towards very long, very elegant finish. Great now, but this will get so much better as it evolves. 94-95 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in brilliant 09/02/00 vertical. Maturing red cherry and berry with floral and earth hints. Good enough power, but really enticing textures that show off Chambolle les Amoureuses' weightlessness at its most engaging and exhilarating.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in brilliant 09/02/00 vertical. Unlike the 2002 or 2009, this is close to fully mature and truly resolved. Mature red cherry in good proportion with earth and savory spice, all combined for wonderful complexity and refinement.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 08/02/95 vertical. Ripe black and red cherry with impressive density, alongside powerful tannins and acidity. Patience required, another decade will be rewarded, 92-93+ points, 2028 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 08/02/95 vertical. Enticing combination of red and black berry, maturing ever-so-gradually with both sweet and savory spice. Everything in place. Great now, but this is still a bit burly, so I fuily expect upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 08/02/95 vertical. Dense and mature mostly black fruit with slightly sweet hints. Very rich. Another successful 1995 Chambolle.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 14/09/02 vertical. Perfumed start with black and red berry and very refined, elegant tannins. Good weight, better length. Good now, 92-93 point potential, better to cellar at least a few more years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 14/09/02 vertical. Riper than the 2014 but just as well spiced. Dense and slightly backward but still so charming from the ripe fruit and sweet spice. 92-93 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 08/02/95 vertical. Perfumed and spice driven start with ripe red and black cherry, maturing gracefully with faint earth hints. Great balance and length, a wonderful 1er Cru.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 14/13/85 vertical, all from magnum. Black fruit throughout, more charming and enticing on nose vs palate. Still slightly powerful and firm. Good now, upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 09/06/00 vertical. Very ripe black fruit but with an impressive backbone, which makes it come across as slightly more awkward (shut down?) vs what I recall from previous bottles. Better to cellar until 2024 forward, definitely with 91-92+ point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 09/06/00 vertical. As ripe as the 2009 but with much more firm tannins. Much more Old School vs 2009, this will take a lot longer to resolve.
Walk around tasting in 14/11/09 vertical. Spice driven start with bright red cherry everywhere. Long finish is slightly backward, very long. Needs until at least 2024.
Walk around tasting in 14/11/09 vertical. Lean red cherry with floral start. Leaner now than I recall from earlier bottles with faint bitter hints on finish. I don't like the trajectory here.
Walk around tasting in 14/11/09 vertical. A powerhouse of a Volnay with so much ripe red and black cherry wit spice just right behind the fruit. 93-94+ point potential, but it will take until at least 2025 to reach its drinking window.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 13/11/09 vertical. Black berry and cherry with both lean and sweet characteristics and delicate spice. Good weight, great balance, finishes with sneaky good length and power. Getting close to its drinking window, 92-94 point potential, 2023 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 13/11/09 vertical. Dense, meaty powerhouse with so much fresh, sweet black fruit. I haven't had this wine in almost a decade and I am surprised that this have barely nudged forward. A great wine in the making, just more slowly than I have been expecting. Still mid-90s potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. Meaty and spicy start with so much black cherry and black currant. Begins fairly open and accessible, then more firm and muscular in the middle, finishing bright again. Impressive 94-5+ point potential, but 2027 forward. Best of the vertical.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. Dense black fruit with power throughout and still finishing with firm structure. Good overall, but I wanted more from Chambertin in a great vintage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. From magnum. Very ripe and concentrated, showing the heat of the 1976 vintage. Old School with rugged tannins and a slightly drying finish. But clear Grand Cru density.
2012 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
12/09/06 vertical. Walk around tasting. Rich start, brighter long finish. I liked this more a few years back when it seemed less ripe, more classic.

Walk around tasting from magnums. 14/13/11 vertical. Good weight and length with lots of apple and while I like the effect of a little botrytis on white Burgundy, I fin it too pronounced here.

Walk around tasting, in 12/11/10 vertical. On the ripe side for Corton-Charlemagne, but that's 2012 coming through. Good weight, perhaps borderline Grand Cru density, but mineral energy coming through on finish.

2012 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 91 Points

2009 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 09/05/99 vertical. This 2009 was form magnum. Ripe, large scaled black and red cherry. Brawny for Volnay, but this is a vintage that doesn't easily/ often show terroir...yet. Fun and tasty for now, certainly with plenty of upside.

1999 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 09/05/99 vertical. Floral, rich and well spice with lots of complex nuance coming through in this small taste. Seemed slightly more Old School and backward than Nico's more recent vintage, but it worls wonderfully in this classic Volnay vintage. Certainly my favorite of the vertical today.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/07/99 vertical. Dense mostly black fruit coming across as ripe but firmly backward. Easily enough here to reward patience as those tannins soften. I'd wait until at least 2024. My favorite of the vertical.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/11/09 vertical. Clearly very ripe and rich, but also clearly maintaining the acidity to be bright and very fresh. Floral hints and lots of spice provide good support with complex hints in the near background. Also just barely entering its peak drinking window, this will have a great, long life.

2010 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Domaine Louis Jadot 93 Points

2009 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 09/06/00 vertical. Very ripe black fruit but with an impressive backbone, which makes it come across as slightly more awkward (shut down?) vs what I recall from previous bottles. Better to cellar until 2024 forward, definitely with 91-92+ point potential.

2006 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 09/06/00 vertical. As ripe as the 2009 but with much more firm tannins. Much more Old School vs 2009, this will take a lot longer to resolve.

2011 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs 87 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 14/11/09 vertical. Lean red cherry with floral start. Leaner now than I recall from earlier bottles with faint bitter hints on finish. I don't like the trajectory here.

2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
Walk around tasting in 14/11/09 vertical. A powerhouse of a Volnay with so much ripe red and black cherry wit spice just right behind the fruit. 93-94+ point potential, but it will take until at least 2025 to reach its drinking window.

2009 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne

2012 Domaine Trapet Chambertin
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. Meaty and spicy start with so much black cherry and black currant. Begins fairly open and accessible, then more firm and muscular in the middle, finishing bright again. Impressive 94-5+ point potential, but 2027 forward. Best of the vertical.

1999 Domaine Trapet Chambertin
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. Dense black fruit with power throughout and still finishing with firm structure. Good overall, but I wanted more from Chambertin in a great vintage.

1976 Domaine Trapet Chambertin 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Walk around tasting, in 12/99/76 vertical. From magnum. Very ripe and concentrated, showing the heat of the 1976 vintage. Old School with rugged tannins and a slightly drying finish. But clear Grand Cru density.
