There was a decent amount of stuff going on, but it was searching for clarity and calm. The nose reminded me of a ketchup heavy hamburger. The '95 by far a better drink, but looking at market prices for Vogue; I'm unimpressed.

  Comte de Vogue Tasting with Jean Luc Pepin (London, 19 September 2023): This was similar to the other ‘08 de Vogue wines presented before it but more brooding and in a more primary state. Ball of fruit and mineral. 92

  YB belated at Pine Close. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. From decanter over 2+ hours.
  Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral rose and violets, dark red cherries, strawberries, dark herbs. Developing.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), satiny medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, ripe strawberries, sweet red plum, dark herbs, crunchy dark stones minerality. Long finish.
  Very good quality. Still at a somewhat young awkward stage though. Firing off its flavours in an unfocused way currently. Will need more patience to see it come together.
