Unfortunately I could not compare it with Poujeaux this time. But be sure, this is a beautiful Bordeaux, probably entering early maturity around 2019 and full maturity around 2023. Will definitely drink nicely until at least 2028. Good qpr! |

The palate is full and intense with flavors of ripe dark berry, vanilla, nutmeg, smoke, and a hint of eucalyptus. Finishes divinely with sweet, caressing tannins. This is the best Chasse-Spleen since the 2005 vintage, only this is riper in fruit and more approachable at a younger age. Drink now with 30 mins of decanting until 2023. |

Ikke fatpreget. Kjempelang og svært stødig ettersmak. Smak av anis/lakris som henger lenge. Åpner seg raskt etter 30 min i glasset. Nesen blir betydelig rikere av de nevnte dufter, men med noe mer modent preg. |

8/19/2013 - La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis opaque crimson blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot was Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing several hours. The nose shows aromas of black and red currants, superimposed on an earthy/herbal canvas. Fresh, medium-to-full-bodied and luscious on the palate, it shows beautiful purity of fruit in a frame of medium-weight, fine-grained tannins. Despite being listed as 14%, the alcohol is seamless. Solid in the middle and long in the finish, it is an excellent Chasse-Spleen which reflects the beauty of the vintage. No doubt that it will improve with time in the cellar, but it is certainly enjoyable now. Drink now-2020. |

On the palate a lot of cassis, beautiful oak which is not fully integrated yet, but that will be just ok with some more time in the bottle, dark chocolate. beautiful acidity and a slight touch of pleasant sweetness. Fine bitterness. At the moment I score the wine 91, but with more cellar time it will almost definitely go up 1 or 2 points. Wait until 2017 at least. |
