10/16/2018 - Motz wrote: 92 pointsTasted over three days. Found it fruitier, inkier, oakier, and denser than the house style over the first two days. Did not know what to think, but it also seemed to be holding its true substance in reserve. Recorked and hoped for improvement. Indeed, it all came together on the third day, and in a big I might add, somewhat reminiscent of the 2014 Massale. Based on this experience, I would hold bottles for at least three years. Decant for several hours if tasting now. It would be interesting to follow this unique offering over the next ten to twelve years. |

Nevertheless, beautiful nose with a touch of funk, pure sweet strawberry, a hint of incense, and a cool minty air that just calmly wafts...just calming. On the palate, great acidity and loads of cranberry and strawberry. Tannin completely attenuated, so I'm glad I drank this now...seems to be at the height of its powers...and a great showing. |

9/26/2018 - rickspicks wrote: NRDried red fruits, red cherry, earth and spice along with a lot of bitter grape skins on the nose - unusual, but interesting. Sour on the palate, with a thin mouthfeel - something less than the lean mouthfeel I expect from an Oregon pinot. Not like prior bottles which were lean, but not thin. Became even more sour with air, and never blossomed. Will not score as it was atypical. |

9/23/2018 - dsgris Likes this wine: 91 pointsMedium ruby red, nose of raspberries. Dry with some tart red berries, chalky tannins, medium fruit, just the slightest funk with a good chewy body. Drinking very well on night two. Cane pith with a touch of bitter, red currants along with the usual forest suspects of sorrel, earth/red clay and balsam. After a couple more days open, the bitter note has disappeared, leaving a medium fruit of lightly tart blackberries followed by chewy tannins. Lovely balance between the acid, fruit and tannins. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

9/18/2018 - *Vine* wrote: NRPopped and poured, medium-plus deep ruby, touch of bricking on the rim. Wonderful nose of assorted berry fruits, fresh root vegetables, cola, autumnal vegetation & just a hint of herbaceous spice. Moderate body. An absolute explosion of Pinot flavors on the palate, tastes like Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny combined with Eyrie South Block -- think red fruits galore combined with a silken mouthfeel, making this all too easy to drink. And although one might be inclined to chug away (who could blame??), there's also quite a bit to contemplate, including fresh herbs (dill, cilantro) and an impression of minerals which continues lingering through on the ridiculously persistent close. |

9/14/2018 - Aravind Asok wrote: NRWow, wow, wow. Pop and pour, but should have decanted. Loads of mushroomy reduction to start, but slowly blew off to reveal intense underlying character. For context drank next to a 2001 Tardy Clos Vougeot Grand Maupertuis (the vines were later returned to Meo-Camuzet and now make up their Clos Vougeot), which also showed very well. However, this was quite simply next level good. On the nose, strawberry and cranberry fireworks, complicated by some mushroomy funk. On the palate, juicy acidity and loads of bright red fruit. Again, seems to have picked up weight from the last bottle. Great, almost chewy density, but somehow weightless at the same time. Fantastically intense with just a hint of tannin on the finish. This bottle has improved exponentially from the last one, and as a wine experience, this ranked up there with the showing of the 2012 from last year. |

9/9/2018 - Plusvini Likes this wine: 90 pointsCoffee and funky notes at first. A little off putting. After two hours it all came together, dust, cherry, dark fruit. Still lots of acid. Maybe past it’s prime but will easily hold up for another couple years. Definitely a food wine. |

8/28/2018 - Seanwsmithm3 Likes this wine: 87 pointsNice fruit on the nose. The palate is rich fruit, mushroom, and acid. The typical cameron funk is there for sure. Not high in alcohol but a little but more cocentrated than the '15 WV or the '15 Dundee Hills. This is the 2nd bottle I've tasted since release, Its easy drinking and enjoyable, but not complex or inspiring at the moment for Cameron. I had the same thoughts for the 1st bottle and +2 months hasn't helped. We drank a '15 Dundee Hills last week and it was fantastic and much more interesting juice. ~+$10 in price though. |

When smelling the two wines, I would have bet anything the Cameron was the Chablis. Intense salty, mineral overtones. I can't remember having a US wine that smelled so much like Chablis. On the palate, this is taut, intense and surprisingly very young. I really need to start exploring Oregon Chardonnay. Very good. |
