4/3/2024 - Philip67 Likes this wine: 92 pointsRaspberry and black cherry on this rich yet elegant wine. Good structure, still young. Notes of sweet spices and some pleasing barrel char. Quite long, relatively straightforward. Beginning to drink now, will ladt and improve for decades. |

8/4/2023 - SuperSomm Likes this wine: 91 pointsDeep ruby colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with red plum, blackberry, black pepper and cedar. Pronounced taste with red plum, blackberry, green bell pepper, black pepper, licorice, cloves and cedar. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Medium body. A very good Pomerol with good potential. Drink in five to twenty years. Goes well with beef or lamb. |

2/11/2024 - juffer Likes this wine: 92 pointsServed in my wine course (gift from A&D). Intense iodine nose. Fairly rich in the mouth. More elegant finish than I was anticipating based on the mouth, with wood influence nicely integrated. Nice. |

1/30/2024 - Zweder Likes this wine: 90 pointsBeautiful bouquet with red and dark berries and some vanilla. The same impressions on the palate, laurel, herbs and spices, cedar, firm but round acidity and sticky tannin. Drying in the finish. Probably wise to wait a few more years; so around 2026. 90+ for tonight. |

1/17/2024 - djhammond Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is remarkable for a wine entering its 65th year, and still robust with no signs of over age. Admittedly, it is not one of the trophy wines, but it really delivers, and unbelievably, still needs an hour in the decanter to blow off some of the rough edges. The nose is its best feature and is deeply aromatic with plum, cherry, chocolate, and old leather. With sufficient air the palate calms down and delivers great balance and depth. It does not have the silky mouthfeel of the greatest aged Bordeaux, with the tannin a little intrusive end palate and on the finish. That said, it is a privilege to drink a wine this old, and still so approachable. |

1/5/2024 - brenkim103 wrote: 91 pointsVibrant, youthful ruby color with very slight bricking on the rim. Smells of red cherries, strawberries, blue fruit, anise, vanilla, cedar, eucalyptus, and iris. Tertiary notes of tobacco, dried red fruits, and a slight truffle note. Fruity, spicy, and structured on the palate. Bright red cherries, plums, red currants, tart blackberries, spices, leather, cacao, and vanilla. Floral, chalky finish. Medium acidity, medium length, grippy tannins. Acidity thins out on the finish. Layered nose, and complex, yet refined on the palate. Thinning acidity was a bit disappointing. Probably won't last much longer. Still a very nice and interesting mature Pomerol. |

1/3/2024 - Psdycp wrote: 90 pointsSubtle nose of blackberries and plum, savoury Arabic spices and tobacco. An hour is necessary for the aromatics to open up. Inky. Fresh and intense on the full-bodied palate. A touch of bitter tannins towards the end of the mid-palate, followed by a penetrating acidity and lingering finish. Need more time. If the fruit can hold, this will be a classic Pomerol. Drink this with serious decanting or wait for another 3 years to enjoy better balance and harmony. 90-91 pts. |

12/16/2023 - tomoem Likes this wine: 92 pointsDennis and Caroline holiday wine tasting. Let me start by stating that I love old wine. I love their unique flavors present only in old wine. Unlike anything in the food industry. Fresh wine unlike tonight's lineup. This wine is loaded with heat and is indicative of a well produced wine. Way too young right now. Chocolate, Licorice, and bay leaf characterize my notes. I was told 70 % merlot. |

12/4/2023 - Purple Tooth wrote: 93 pointsBeautiful barnyard notes floating off the top of this fully mature wine. Cool notes of old cellar and clay remind me of really old school boned wines at the beginning of my love affair with the matured wines of the region. Long caressing finish that leaves dry and light footed. Its still in the elegant phase. Drink |

10/7/2023 - wmccone54 wrote: 92 pointsThe last time I enjoyed this wine was at 10 years, back in 2013. I love the way his has developed over the ensuing ten years. At twenty years, this is mature, soft, supple and elegant. Given its age, the wine was not decanted, but opened about 30 mins prior to dinner. Slight bricking at the edges, but there’s still a clear, solid, deep ruby core. Mature and complex aroma and flavor profile: old leather, drying tobacco, dying red flowers, powdered cocoa, spicy red currants, stewed red raspberries, crushed day old cherries, mixed herbs, and iron infused rocks. Structural elements are completely integrated and perfectly balanced. Medium intensity on the palate and a medium plus finish. Worked with the chargrilled, thick cut pork chop and Brussels sprouts casserole. Drink now, unlikely to improve with further cellaring. Can be enjoyed for another 1-2+ years depending on cellar conditions. |
