Tasting this 21 year old bottle certainly challenges whether it is ageworthy as opposed to best drunk younger. The color is a translucent pale gold with no brown tone at all. The nose has a whiff of butterscotch and licorice rather than just being refreshingly citric. The sip, however, comes across relatively clean, bright, and smoothly textured, with a long aftertaste. Overall, a surprisingly durable and enjoyable old white wine. |

Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of blueberries, cherries & mulberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, some spice notes, herbs & minerals. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, blueberries & plums, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has potential for further development with several additional years of aging. Very good QPR. |

Strawberry and frostbitten cranberry palate, red currants acidity following by tar, muscular tannins and smooth, fresh finish of good length. Complex and rich but silky, elegant and well balanced. Food friendly, well pairing to linguine in white porcini sauce. Ready, open one hour ahead. Serve 18ºC - 20ºC. Drink now and the next ten/twelve years. |

This wine was well-kept by the maker until its release. Cedar and honey jam notes were excellent. One caveat, the maker used a storage kind of wax on top of the bottle; the wax was brittle and easy to crack, leaving glass-like dust; I took care of such dust carefully before opening the bottle. |

The bigger issue here is with the opening/decanting of traditional Barolo wine that takes a long time to open up ( 4 hours + ) and modern style brings complexity to open Barolo to meet timing for dinner. Followed with myriads of potpourri, sandalwood, & Mediterranean spices. Palate: initial stage, supple dusty tannins with great length and persistency. Leaving it 2 hrs in the decanter, it gained lots of density and weight. Added more depth at the back palate but somehow the tannins became grippier and angular. Really enjoyed this wine but I think this may require another 5-10 years or needed some food to balance the tannins |

Nice full nose of aged fruit and leather. Rich, moderately complex palate of red fruit, spice and leather, decent balance and still fresh. Medium finish extended to long by still-heavy tannins that stay in the mouth. Fresh enough that it could go a few more years, but I don't think it will improve further. |
