4/15/2024 - Mon.Maultiere Likes this wine: 92 pointsDrunk with beef casserole for lunch. 13%. Deep dark dulled garnet. Farmyard, pot-pourri, sour cherries, dark forest fruits and mushroom. Previous bottles have been too tannic and rough but this is now beginning to mellow and gain better balance. It is robust rather than elegant. Good acidity, still some fruit, softening tannins and nice length. Best bottle yet - no rush. |

3/21/2024 - Burgundy Al wrote: NRBertrand's Wine Dégustation (Beaune Burgundy): Walkaround tasting with the producers. Now this is really old school, for better and worse. Big black fruit, meaty and well spiced, ey so tannic and backward. There is enough of everything to remain in slumber together for the next decade+, but it's difficult right now to assess when where. how this will emerge from that hibernation. I wouldn't touch a bottle until 2033 or later, but think there is 90+ point potential here. |

3/21/2024 - Burgundy Al wrote: 89 pointsBertrand's Wine Dégustation (Beaune Burgundy): Walkaround tasting with the producers. An old school Nuits, nearly rustic but clearly assisted by the fruit's fundamental ripeness. Good potential for village wine, but needs time, 2030-. |

3/21/2024 - beatles wrote: 91 pointsServed blind, and we were quite confused. Has a chalky feel, could be Beaujolais, could be Loire, but it's Corton (of course it is). It's light, prette red fruit, a wee bit closeed, but quite elegant. Better in five years. |

Smagen noget lukket. Har masser af syre og tannin. Også noget frugt. Mørkfrugtet og rustik. Stor koncentration og meget potent. Pæn lang eftersmag. Er slet ikke moden endnu. En decideret madvin |

7/15/2019 - rikipedia Likes this wine: 93 pointsTerroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Vougeot (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): A light+ garnet towards a mahogany rim suggests some age. The nose confirms the undergrowth but also brings out aromas of violet, red berries, wild mint and dried rose petals. |

Overall conclusion: All vintages are still performing well. Vintage 2002 is charming, easy to drink, still good concentration, rounded tannins. 2005 is dark, has more alcohol, higher tannins, more acidity, very good balance. |

We are talking about one of the most criticized vintages, but the tasting was a surprise. I gave 90 points or more to 9 out of 11 cuvees. All wines were garnet in color showing the tertiary development stage, but not too much, which I personally find un charming. The winner was Le Chambertin which I scored 97 closely followed by Clos de Vougeot (96). No. 3 was Lavaux St. Jacques (93). |

12/19/2023 - dbkitc wrote: 93 pointsThis wine is fabulous. My note from 2020 stands though it continues to evolve and integrate. Note the style - this is a big, extracted style of burgundy. That said the fruit has soaked up the oak and left a warm, black cherry fruited and earthy nectar that really does bring a smile. Delicate? Nah. But every now and then it’s fun to step on the wild side. I may be underestimating this. It’s really good. (93) |
