Clean blueberry fruit, full of earth, fine tannins, firm, drier finish. Also very good in a straightforward, more modern, polished style. Maybe this is partly a function of it being pure Malbec and not blended. I’d give it a few years and enjoy it over the short to intermediate term after that. |

It still has a good amount of grainy tannins which should provide another decade of aging potential. Excellent and the best of the older reds that were poured. Never having had aged New Zealand reds, the longevity of this wine was very instructive for me. |

Excellent acidity and substantial fine tannins that reach the gums. Excellent and quite impressive, and I say this as someone who generally avoids Bordeaux varietals. Should drink very well over the next decade anyway. |

Sweet blueberry fruit, mint, and a tannic finish showing alcoholic heat. Fascinating, very much alive, but out of balance. I would never have guessed the varietal grape. |

Medium weight with an excellent soil base. Tart black and blue fruit with strong acidity, chocolatey tannins, and a moderately long finish. Very refined, elegant version of true Syrah and probably the best wine we tasted during this visit. It is fascinating that this winery can successfully produce Rhône, Bordeaux, and Burgundian red varietals from the same climate and terroir. |

Earth, spice, and fennel with some remaining sweetness of fruit, but obvious oxidation and a harsh, short finish. Past its time, but some intriguing flashes of what it must have been some years back. |

Lovely medium to light weight blue/red fruit, bright acidity, and a swirling finish of soil and tannins. Nice unforced natural sweetness, but could use more intensity and length. Needs 2+ years, but at least very good. Simpler than the 2021 Clayvin, but I liked this too for its delicacy. This light touch is something I appreciated about all of the current era Pinots we tasted but did not find in the library examples. |

Excellent acidity, savory notes, and progression across the palate with an appropriately weighted level of framing dry tannins. This was terrific and my favorite of the Pinots we were shown. |

Chewy, good soil base. Heavy handed wine from what must have been a very warm vintage, but not without interest or life. |

Noticeable though not intrusive whole bunch, a sense of generosity to the dark hued cherry fruit, baking spice. This more refined than shouty...I think I'll give the other bottle a couple more years though |

2/9/2024 - Scott4227 Likes this wine: NRBricky brownish red, thinning to the edge. Initially nose of dusty wooden furniture then forest floor, coal notes, cigarette and cigar ash with some dried berry and sour berry fruit notes. Light to medium weight with tertiary flavours well developed, gven the age to be expected, with beef jus, moussaka flavours. Low acidity and almost non existent tannins that only really show up well into the finish. Probably just past its best but still drinking well now and probably for no more than another 12-18 months. If you like aged Marlborough Pinot then I have little doubt this would be your thing. Good QPR at $20AUD |

12/8/2023 - Rich S Likes this wine: 90 pointsFirst time trying this where I could focus on the wine and it's a very solid bottle of pinot. Juicy dark red cherry and plum with some holiday spices and floral notes. Perhaps a touch more oak than I would like but still balanced. Juicy red fruit on the palate with a smooth mouthfeel. Medium acid and tannin. Tasty sipping pinot. |
