Almost 3 years since I last tasted this wine.
Still some primary fruits but cedar, leather, forest floor also present.
Continues to drink well although probably hasn’t improved.
Excellent wine.

Has softened considerably. Closer to Napa than Bordeaux. Ripe Cabernet with bay leaf.

14%, screwcap.

No rush but drinking well now.

Cool nose of lemon, green apple, some herbs, a green grassy note, and a little bit of funk even. Palate has good followthrough from the nose with some chalkiness, great acidity, and a smooth mouthfeel. Light and refreshing, great with Indian food.

Screwcap. Very much in prime drinking window. Generous black fruit and cassis, nicely integrated with some spicy notes from the oak. Benefits from some time in a decanter.

2021 Moss Wood Pinot Noir Margaret River

I remember tasting MW Pinot Noir a few years back and shrugging it off, however for some reason I have done a complete u-turn on this wine. IT is planted right next to the Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon , which firstly is super interesting, how many places can you think of the in the worst where they plant Cabernet Sauvignon next to Pinot Noir? Right... Well in Margaret River it just works, Hugh puts it down to the climate.

This wonderful lush, succulent and elegant Pinot Noir shows notes of crunchy red berries, savoury herbs, liquorice, sea salt? crushed red roses and forest floor. The palate is succulent and fine, with a focus and precision, red crunchy fruit, crushed stones, black tea and crushed florals , the mid palate in mineral driven with fine silky tannins and focused leading to a slightly eclectic finish.

This is a first class wine. Can't quite believe I don't have a prior note for it. Lovely nose combining mature dried fruit - prune and date - but with the fresh mint and mature cassis, and then a layer of earthy dried leaves. On the palate, a certain creamy caffe latte character. Unctuous and delicious. Perfectly mature, drink or hold. Very sad this is my last bottle.

Late night at home. Screw-cap. Drank from decanter over 2+ hours.
Drank in Gabriel Standart and Sydonios Meridional. Tasted blind.
Initially quite green on the nose and intensely sour acidic on the palate. Hated it at first but it really came around and became much better with more air time.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of capsicum, light Chinese herbs, integrated vanilla toast oak, blackcurrant, graphite ;pencil lead, purple fruits and leather emerging. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), integrated soft high tannins full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of integrated vanilla toast oak, blackcurrant, blackberries, black cherries, graphite, capsicum, menthol, emerging leather. Long spicy finish.
Very good quality. Complex and in a Bordeaux mould.

This wine gets better year after year, the 2023 vintage in Margaret River was a little cooler and so the whites are looking rather good. Aromas of white florals, citrus tart, ginger, slight tropical notes as well. The palate is bright yet shows wonderful depth and focus with notes of asian pear, juicy orchard fruits, ginger tart, sweet spices, butter tart and wet stones. The mid-palate is succulent finishing with wonderful persistence and energy. 94++

Bob's cellar. Dark red. Meaty, fleshy, chocolate and blackberry nose, touch of red fruit acidity. Flavours are also full and meaty, maraschino and red cherry, faded tannins, edge of age. Nice. Day 2, some of the age has blown off and the fruit comes through more.

Another solid vintage for Amy's, I feel this is a step up from 2020, same score yet just feels more complete. Will taste in a couple of weeks to confirm. Notes of cassis, blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, baking spices and bark. The palate is lush and succulent with notes of dark black fruit, oaky notes, vanilla and spice, the mid-palate shows nice depth, fine tannins structure finishing simple yet clean.

Purchased from tasting room in Margaret River, consumed over 2 days - note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with aromas of cassis, blueberry, eucalyptus, tobacco, and saddle leather. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin are soft yet grippy, medium body, medium+ intensity, 13.5% abv with youthful flavors of spice, cassis, and leather with a medium+ finish.

Balance: Excellent
Length: Excellent
Intensity: Outstanding
Complexity: Excellent

Much too young to be drinking today, but we didn't have room in luggage to bring back to the US. Nevertheless, this is an outstanding Margaret River cabernet with a bright future. Needs 5+ years.

This is a wonderfully elegant, classy and persistent Cabernet from Moss Wood. Notes of cassis, bramble jelly, dark plum, milk chocolate, cedar and unsmoked tobacco. The palate is soft and elegant with dark bramble fruits, melting chocolate, oaky notes, polished tannins a soft velvety mid-palate and an elegant slightly rich finish.

Wonderfully elegant, seductive yet focused Chardonnay, tiny production. Vines here still young. Notes of white nectarine, peach, citrus tart, fennel and white pepper. The palate was delicate, bright and seductive with notes of orchard fruits, white florals, spring greens like white asparagus? and a tart mid-palate and a fresh finish. Young vines will improve in future vintages.

14.5%, screwcap. Still fresh tasting. Fragrant. Nice food friendly tartness, with no discernible Aussie ascorbic acid aftertaste. Carries its high alcohol well. PnP, continued to evolve over the evening. Have one more bottle - should revisit in a year or five.
