Really good and seemingly improving towards the end. Not showing much tannin but good structure. The fruit is tasty and rather primary. At times, I was thinking it too linear. Overall, most enjoyable.

Nice red fruits, strawberries and raspberries are dominant, soft earthy notes and a few soft aging notes like dried leather and mushrooms in the background. Tannins are smooth. Good complexity and a very nice overall balance. Medium long finish.
It’s already in a nice spot and showing some nice aging notes. It will be very good over the next years. Drink from now until 2032.
Aloxe-Corton is always good for some surprises in my opinion, especially when you have a look at the price tags for these wines. (IG)

This is darned good now. As in prior notes, a little thin for a 1er on opening, with signature Pernand sandy tannins, very fine-grained - as befits the quality of this vineyard - and tart cherry. Hand-in-hand with the Pernand tannins goes a palpable sense of density, which is moderate here. The whole package is very clean, balanced, and pure, especially the cherry flavors, and the thinness dissipates somewhat after a night in the 'fridge. A very nice adjunct from Ile to the versions produced by Chandon dB and Rollin; a bit like an imagined Jadot with more elegance. A good surprise after previous showings. At $65 for the 2019, not the value it was in 2010, but reasonably priced, relative to Iles from other good vignerons.

April 11, 12, & 14, 2024

On the first night the aromas are all about red fruits, cherries, strawberries with an undercurrent of potting soil and flowers. The palate was sickeningly fruity (if that makes sense), with orange-y acidity, some herbal and cola flavors, but it did have the oyster shell finish that I seem to find almost exclusively in Burgundy…and I’m a sucker for this. However, I kept saying to myself:

“This does not taste like the wine I tried in the shop.”

On the 2nd and 3rd nights the fruitiness calmed down and worked in harmony with the other aromatic elements and it was a lovely, pleasurable wine, just as it was when I first tried it in the shop. I would buy it again, but give it some air.

Sealed under a 5-year DIAM cork
Woman-owned winery
Manual harvest and sorting
Destemmed, no new oak.
Sourced fromvfour plots located in Savigny-les-Beaune, Ladoix-Serrigny, and Pommard. Including the climat “La Chappelle Notre-Dame”

In the glass, the wine shows a gorgeous light gold color. Intense aromas of fresh citrus, ripe peach, roasted nuts and spice persist on the nose. On the palate, the fruits evolve into the exotic variety with the wine broadening on the palate and developing a soft, creamy texture impeccable balanced by an energetic acidity.

Nebbiolo-like in its ripe dark cherry fruit and fine grained tannins. Went nicely with pasta all'amatriciana and a 90 minute decant. Drink or hold.

During a Grands Jours Femmes&Vins walkabout tasting, only brief impressions. This Corton had very soft tannins, almost succulent, but I’m missing some aromantic depth. May be that come with time.

Wow...all the characteristics of a great tasting CC. Lt. to pale yellow in colour, excellent acidity giving this a fabulous freshness, no premature signs of aging. Notes of minerality, slight nose of biscuit, primary fruit flavours of citrus mostly lemon, slight hint of green apple. Great length, extremely gratifing wine to drink. Last bottle

Not sure what to make of this…Initially, quite tannic but that dissipated quickly. Overall, it seems quite primary. But there is something about the fruit that isn’t quite right. At times, it seemed sour. At others - artificial. Some quality elements, but not Grand Cru class and not Perrières earthiness. We shall see.

Quite golden. Smelled citrus, honey, white flower; tasted juicy white grape and butterscotch with honey. Feels rounded off without a lot of bite on the palate, medium body, good intensity, medium-plus juicy finish. Drink now.

Perplexing.

Would have called it as Italian.

Brooding, dark, roses, and tar. I know "Sauvage" is often used in these cases, maybe I don't have enough experience with that style, but it seemed past that for me.

Don't think I can rate it. I wouldn't reach for it as I did, in the mood for Burgundy, but I would try it again.

Bright golden yellow. This offers a broad spectrum of delicate and well defined nuances, leading to an overall delicate but assertive aromatic profile. Ripe apple, honeysuckle, vanilla, honey, butter, smoke intermingled with sage and rosemary notions. The palate is medium to full bodied, creamy and sumptuous, delivering depth leading to a long finish.

Same btl as rocknroller. Nita & I along with Kevin & Vicki to further celebrate our 45th wedding anni at The Kenwood in Minneapolis. From one of Burgundy's semi "under the radar" but outstanding producers! Not the head-turner that a very recent 2017 PYCM CC was but still a great example I'd be more than happy to own & drink again. Potent minerality along w/ citrus & stone fruit. It's hard to overstate its bead of steely minerality. Balanced w/ plenty of acidity but ready to go as it has become more placid since my previous btl in late 2021. Elegant, regal Corton-Charlemagne that is ready to drink. There was some coursing overlap where we also had Kevin's '08 Crystal which kind of pancaked my CC :). 93+
