4/22/2024 - ashegedyn wrote: NRSo nice autumn leaf notes and sour cherry. Thought it would be ready to drink. Strong tannins still here and could use quite a bit more aging. You can drink it but it will benefit from more aging. A bit unbalanced because of this. Had nice long finish. |

Tannini molto vellutati e ben nascosti, giusta acidità. Media-bassa persistenza. |

2018 Pio Cesare Barolo Vigna MosconiNebbiolo more |
9/21/2023 - ylkim30 wrote: NRThe Mosconi, similar to the Ornato, undergoes 30-day maceration in stainless steel with the majority of the wine aged in large oak botte with a small proportion spending 12 months in barrique (not sure if any of it is new). The 2018 Mosconi is relatively elegant and vertical in its profile, in comparison to the darker, more brooding Ornato. While it is already fairly approachable, which may be due to the barrique softening the wine, it still has a strong Nebbiolo signature that is not really masked by the gloss or aromas of new oak. While I would not call this a purely traditionalist wines, I would say this would fall within the camp of tasteful modernism. It isn't soft or plush, but has really tension and energy. |

9/21/2023 - ylkim30 Likes this wine: NRThe Ornato undergoes 30-day maceration in stainless steel with the majority of the wine aged in large oak botte with a small proportion spending 12 months in barrique (not sure if any of it is new). The 2018 Ornato came across as fairly approachable (perhaps because of the touch of barrique-influenced wine) with some slickness and polish, but it is not oaky (tasted no oak at all), internationally-styled chocolate milk shake either. This is identifiably Nebbiolo that shows real Serralunga character: a tannic, dark-fruited, and brooding wine that is taut and precise. |

9/21/2023 - ylkim30 Likes this wine: NRThe 2019 Barbaresco surprised me – 70% of its grapes are sourced from Il Bricco in Treiso, the other 30% from other Treiso vineyards, and it had this lean, nervy, slightly citric and spicy quality I have found in other Treiso Barbarescos that I’ve tried from other producers (like Giuseppe Nada). Very true to place, and a relative value when compared to the the single-vineyard Barolos. |

4/12/2024 - Bolzano2022 Likes this wine: 91 pointsWith 와인쟁이부부. Beautiful, high intense nose of tobacco, mushroom, leather. Much more earthiness than fruitiness is shown on the nose. I sensed some holes in the mid palate. |

2/7/2024 - Jamieson12o Likes this wine: 93 points2010 Barolos at Terra Rossa with NLWTS (Terra Rossa, Upper Street): Darker nose than others… cassis?! Very sweet, pretty opulent. Super pronounced nose. Very generous… but not exactly textbook barolo - slightly on steroids! Really fun (and tasty) regardless of any atypicality. |

Medium bodied lacking density mid-palate that filled in with subsequent glasses. Grippy tannins and a long finish. Paired reasonably well with meat sauce spaghetti. Will hold remaining bottle a few years. |

3/22/2024 - Neecies Likes this wine: NRDarker and more intense than the '90 Parusso Mariondino it was paired with, with slight bricking at the edge. My favorite of the two. Both showed beautifully with Bill's red wine braised veal cheeks. |
